I, like many others don't want to remember things that are stupid, weird, and creepy. This video exemplifies perfectly why I hate most commercials, and music videos right now. You don't want to scare your customers away, do you?

This is why I come to this site. The advertising, and music video industry is trying way too hard to make people remember their work when what they're really doing is giving people disturbing nightmares that they would gladly forget if they could.

We need to go back to when musicians were really ugly, but sounded great. After all who listens to someone's face on the radio?  LOL

Having seen music videos since the advent of MTV, "shocking" no longer shocks me.  And I've liked some straaaaange stuff over the years.  LOL

As far as Cristina Aguilera ripping off Lady Gaga, Lady Gaga herself rips off a German opera/punk singer from the 70s and 80s named Nina Hagen, who was also very talented but also peddled shock.  Thing is, Hagen's from way back, and wasn't that big a star in the US to begin with, so she's ripe for being ripped off.  I doubt most Lady Gaga fans know who she is, but I've no doubt that Lady Gaga herself does.

I know who she is. She sang with Apolyptica. She has a nice deep voice and was singing a song Rammstein  did.

See, iamamiwhoami definitely pwns the mainstream, I think.

She used to hit the really high notes, too.  But after decades singing the way she does, those no longer get hitten.

Hitten.  I just made that word up.

Ah. I want to hear more of her because I like how she sings. She was singing some sort of spiritual and was like, "I can't sing  gospel, I'm a white chick."
That was funny.

Nina Hagen shows up on YouTube a lot. Along with the things already posted here, there's a talk show appearance with her and Don Rickles! You can just imagine.

She's talent plus schtick.  Plus she utilizes music from across the spectrum.  It remains to be seen if Gaga is the same.  Overkill just might kill her.

I only know one song by Gaga, and it's OK.  I mainly like the fact that she's self-made rather than manufactured by Disney or some record company.

As strange as Lady Gaga may be, at least she's self manufactured. Having said that, this Nina Hagen chick seems more strange, and predates Gaga by a few decades. That 'barking, and meowing' song makes 'Bad Romance' sound like Motzart.

Thank MTV for the shift from ugly looking, yet talented musicians to pretty looking, yet no talent 'pop stars'. Making radio 'obsolete' with each passing day. At least voice actors don't have to make the jump to full time acting.

Hmmmmmm...

Maybe for that exact reason, radio won't become obsolete.  As people discard their aging "pretty" artists, and seeing them becomes less important, the wheat and chaff will separate, and the talented will win out.

I'd like to know how popular streaming radio stations have become.  There are a ton of these.  Click on "Radio" in your iTunes and you'll see thousands of stations available.

An upside to the music videos of today: Beavis and Butthead will be making fun of them on the revival coming sometime next year.
