Has anyone else noticed the increasing amount of slack jawed hillbillies appearing on commercials? SPEAK ENGLISH!!!  There's a Nutrisystem with some jock " You eat the feeeoood you lose the wayit"
Then there's the one with the woman talking about living on " Pay-in keelers".
A few years ago we were attacked by something called ebonics, what's this... redneckonics?
SPEAK PROPER ENGLISH!!! YOU SOUND UNINTELLIGENT!! It hurts my ears!!!

I do not think much, I do not think often, but when I do think, I think about sex!!

Only thing that I can think of is that they're catering to some group or another.  Not sure what that group would be.

*shrug* I don't really have much of an accent myself. But, as a native rural Southerner, the accents of people from places like Boston and Staten Island sound pretty coarse and "stupid" to me.

It's all relative.

Just guessing here, but it seems that since the whole "Guido" thing became a thing, there are more and more people in local radio and TV ads really playing up their own Bronx/Brooklyn accent and terminology.  "Fuggedaboutit", "badabing", etc.  It's like they never left NYC.  They sound really stupid...and even worse, proud of it.

It's Americana.

Trying to appeal to the common folk.

Sounds like some New York-Massachusetts hybrid.  Connecticut, maybe?  I wonder what Nite Raidah would say about it.

That's meahly yaw opinion.  Let's heah what he has to say.

When I was a kid, I liked imitating JFK.  "I was baaawn in Baaawston".  I guess that was from one of his speeches, but I don't really know.  More likely, it was probably from some comedian imitating JFK on the Ed Sullivan Show.  Christ, I'm old.  LOL
