I enjoy watching John Fogarty play those old songs with whichever band he plays with now. He really seems to be having fun. It's kinda like watching Brad Paisley. They both seem to really get off on playing. |

Part of me wants to know what the hell that feud with his bro was all about. Part of me says get that nonsense away from me. All I really care is that the music exists, no matter who has/had the rights to it. |

FWIU, only the bro (Tom) and his band get to call themselves CCR, but they both get to do the songs in concert. Of course, John was the original lead singer and guitarist, which is all anyone is really interested in seeing and hearing live. So it's no surprise that John is the one doing all the live shows and drawing in the crowds at larger and nicer venues. The other guys probably play biker bars and sh*t. |

With Tom dead, I guess no one has the right to use the band name. |

I didn't know he died.
But if that's the case, whoever his heirs are, would most likely have inherited the rights to anything CCR related. Collecting royalties, merchandising rights and income, etc. It wouldn't surprise me if they were legally allowed to hire a group of sound alike musicians to learn all the old CCR songs and go around doing shows under that name. Of course, I doubt a lot of people would be interested. |

They could just do like Brit Floyd, and maybe call themselves Creedence Clearwater Revue. Of course, I'm sure there's all sorts of licensing agreements that have to be signed to be a tribute band. Oooh--- Creedence Clearwater Arrival Or Creedence Clearwater Derival. Derival works on several levels. |

Clever but a bit too "intellectual" for the kind of fans they'd be aiming for.
Maybe Creedence Clearwater Recycled?

This guy has or is going to perform at one of the local Casinos. I saw an ad, he sounds nothing like Fogerty. The presentation by Randy Linder and
his band as a tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival is second to none.
They have entertained audiences from California to New York with the
beloved hits that came from CCR between the years of 1968 and 1972 and a
few of John Fogerty's solo hits. Randy has been in the music business
since 1968 and has attained National and International status since
developing this salute to John Fogerty and CCR in the year 2000. Past
performances include several Las Vegas engagements, shows in Guam and a
show in Mexico with an enthusiastic audience of 14,000 CCR fans.
Randy’s authenticity shines through with the visual resemblance, the voice, the lead guitar style and even the rockin’ blues harp played by John Fogerty in some of those early CCR hits. You will walk away from this show having absorbed the energy of a full blown Rock N Roll concert and with a renewed interest in a singer/songwriter who played a huge roll in shaping American music culture. |

I don't know how I feel about tribute bands. I saw Brit Floyd a few years ago, and while they sounded great and did all the right things, it was still a group imitating someone else. I'd almost be more inclined to see someone like the guy aka ron posted about, a tribute musician who doesn't pretend to be like the real thing. |

Ha! I was just talking with a co-worker about her the other day. That song was pretty big, but you never hear it anymore. Just a forgotten oldie, I guess. |
