First we had transgender (aka transJenner), and now we have transracial.

It was revealed last week that the female head of the Spokane chapter of the NAACP, Rachel Dolezal, who's been passing herself off as black, is not black at all.  Her family has told the news that their daughter is almost entirely German and Czech, with a tiny bit of Native-American thrown in.  Furthermore, her claim to have been the target of nine race-based hate crimes seems to be totally without merit.

Here she is now and as a teen:

Here are her parents:

What a bizarre world she lives in.  It's one thing for people to think you're someone you're not, but it's another to aggressively perpetuate that lie yourself and base an entire life/career on it.

Kind of reminds me of someone here.  LOL

I'm actually surprised she was able to pull off the lie as long as she did.

I guess people see what they want to see.

I see a white girl with a spray tan and a perm.

I've heard of lying on one's resume just to get a job before, but this is kinda stretching things a bit.

On the other hand, it kinda says a lot about where we're at as a society when a prominent white person actually wants to be seen as black.

I wonder if she takes on that fake "hood" dialect like most of these low class, white trash, wannabe black chicks do, when she's speaking away from a microphone or podium.

"Yo, girruh fren... I don' be playing dat!!!!"

I am revelling in her total & complete embarrassment.

Especially the fact that, as Darth said, no one questioned it.  That didn't happen until her estranged mother went to the media, and in effect, forced the issue.

I saw some article in which a black psychologist said that if she feels black, she is.

This makes sense considering that, nowadays, if you feel like the opposite gender, you are the opposite gender.

No one questioned it because no one gave a f*ck.

Personally, I still don't.

I just find it all amusing as hell.

I'm just now catching wind of this whole mess - think I want to read up on this one to see if she's as much a whack job as that lady who 'survived 9-11', appeared on a bunch of shows, raised funds, then we all found out she was nowhere near any of the sites hit that day...
Our youngest daughter lives in Seattle...after I learn a little more, I'm going to have to gather her thoughs on this, being she is a lot closer to everyting in more ways than one.

Yeah, I was just channel surfing and found this show, not something I watch regularly.

Edward Bridge "Ted" Danson III (born December 29, 1947) is an American actor, author, and producer, well known for his role as lead character Sam Malone in the sitcom Cheers, and his role as Dr. John Becker on the sitcom Becker. He is currently starring in the CBS drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation as D.B. Russell.[1][2

Then can I be a fairy printheth?

Sounds like that psychologist bought his medical license on the Vegas Strip.

If that's the case, then you know some whack job is sitting in his mom's basement right about now thinking out loud to himself "You know, I've always truly felt like a dalmation..."

I dunno...it could go either way. I dated a girl that was very light skinned. I was actually not sure that she was black until I met her parents.

...and its not the kind of thing you ask a person just because you're not sure. (Not to funny, but if you ask a light skinned black woman if she's black....well, in my experience it never ends without someone being cussed out. I'm a black guy and I had a guy ask me once if I was Egyptian. *I don't know why, I don't look at all Egyptian, and whats worse we were in uniform. I was like "does the name on my uniform look even remotely Egyptian?* for the record my real name is a generic as John Smith)

But I'm with Jimbo....I didn't actually care enough to be upset about it, I just find it amusing.

ConfusedI DO have to ask opinion on one thing:

Consider our proverbial light-in-the-loafers types (gay, same-sex, phags...whatever) and how we have all come to accept - in fact, LEGALLY ENFORCED acceptance required, what would be wrong with 'transracial'? Really? "She was born a black person in a white person's body" should be acceptable to all, just like "He was born a woman in a man's body"' We've had this all along and everyone probably should accept it - we tried to embrace the thought before...

"Hey Barbette! Are you happy to see me, or did I turn your brown eyes blue?"

The difference being that transgender people often have similar brain wiring to the gender they feel they are, rather than their physical gender. There's pretty big differences in both construction, and activation of the brain between genders. Certain parts are bigger in women, wider in men, etc. and studies have shown that while performing the same tasks and reaching the same conclusion, totally different segments of the brain worked for women than did for men.

By comparison there's absolutely no differences found between races in terms of brain development to say that a person could accidentally get the brain construction of a race they have no connection to. At least with transgenderism there is a pretty easy to surmise genetic or developmental component behind it given humans luckily have a gender binary.

I think it WOULD make sense to say "if she feels black..." only IF she were a girl who grew up in a primarily black community, with primarily black friends, and suffered in many of the same ways as they did, had all the cultural influences as them, etc. (Basically, if inuits raise a white baby, is it an Inuit when it grows up, even if it isn't genetically?) It seems that really isn't the case, though

That's the part I'd have to disagree with you on, and why I'm still surprised no one called her out before now. This new generation of consequence-free younguns can be pretty fearless and brazen.

LOL

But yeah, I really couldn't care less either, just something to talk about.

In regard to 'brain construction', you are speaking from belief, not science fact...so you have an opinion. Maybe you read some studies that support your belief, or caused your conclusions. I have to side up with Thor and the psychologist's quote.
Now in regard to 'transgender', you've provided reasons that readily can be argued. Again, belief over science fact.
Enough about all of this -  you go run out and get you a nice young black woman (or you can go be one) and remember to be a good person and let nature take its course.
