Another one I keep seeing all of a sudden. More annoying narration that supposed to "soothe" - I guess. What's with the odd sloppy eating, the whole damn ad is just weird!

OH GOD! And in slow-mo too! Why don't they just go ahead and show a string of slobber coming out of their mouths? This reminds me of the Panera Pigs thread. Seems this is a new trend that needs to go away.

Another food commercial that makes me lose my appetite. Do some people only enjoy food when they're making a mess with it?
Makes me miss that weird little German kid.

Well, I'm glad that the weird German kid is gone and took his bleached hair and radioactive eyes with him. But I completely agree that the sloppy eating trend is revolting. I suspect that this might be part of that "isn't-my-little-kid-so-adorable" culture, so that every screech is music, every mess made is cute, and every time the little monsters smear some food into their mouths, we're all supposed to applaud. Who thinks up these ad campaigns? And who thinks these ads are creative, effective or even watchable?

Anything's better than the extremely culturally insensitive German kid, but does the mom have to narrate the scene with her daughter's mouth having white frosting all over it in a soft quasi-late-night-porn voice and saying "gooey"?

STOMACH TURNING.
Because they use kids it's supposed to be cute? Why not wheel out grammpa and let him gum one of these into his toothless maw? No, that wouldn't be cute, now would it? It would be downright disgusting. SO ARE THESE. I don't care how old you are - food smeared across one's face is goddamn revolting. |

"toothless maw" - now that's funny! Two thumbs up if you film it in slow-motion closeup! I admit I like Poppin Fresh (a/k/a the Pillsbury Doughboy), even though he apparently sold his soul to appear in a Geico ad a while back. But kids in commercials cannot sell me anything. |

Yes, this needs to be in 2X Slow Motion. In the meantime, enjoy this commercial backwards.

Ad execs who are most likely mothers who think their child is a gift from heaven, therefore everyone else will think so, too. This disgusting commercial turns my stomach. It's up there with parents on Facebook who post pictures of their downright adorable (gag) kids with milk or food smeared all over their face and think all the "likes" and "SO CUTE!" comments will roll in. |

OMG - those toaster strudel commercials are disturbing on so many levels - the latest one has an asian pre-teen slobbering up a strudel while mom narrates in a weird soft-sexual voice telling the audience to 'just look at that sweet mouth' while the camera pans in for a close-up of the little girl's lips - it's disgusting! I was shocked when I saw it, and it keeps getting air time over and over again. Are these commercials made by pedophiles?

I hate commercials when they're narrated with that weird-ass whispery voice. Ugh! Assault on my ears!

I couldn't stand that weird German kid. This may be worse. These kids are disgusting. They are so not perfect or sweet or whatever, like the mom thinks. I also think that mom's voice is soooooooo ingratiating. They need to stop these, now!
Why can't you commercial makers just show your product? You don't need to make these innocent children look soooo disgusting and PLEASE get rid of that mom's voice! If I knew her when my kids were little (well, I might not have done murder, but I could've gone insane!). Please stop these NOW!! I swear, I'll buy pop tarts any day over these, even though, I know strudels are really yummy! Worst ever commercial! |

It really is annoying. This one is absolutely awful, Panera Bread comes to mind also and gets on my very last nerves. Some soft speaking girl also babbling about various nonsense.

Panera and other commercials with weird-ass whispery voices:
If you think they're bad, try sitting through Jeopardy when any of the contestants talk like that. I'll take "Where's my gun" for $100 please, Alex.

I feel creepy having seen that now. Like Chris Hanson and the Dateline crew are going to come barging into my room with the boom mics and cameras lol (Swarmy Chris Hanson voice): "I need to ask you sir...what is a 40 year old man like yourself doing watching that video?" (me): "but...it's just a strange youtube video someone else posted on the Commercials I Hate forum!" (CH): "Riiiiight. Do you know how many other times I've heard that?" (cops lurk outside in the hallway ready to tackle me) |
