Citi Cards called me a few minutes ago, their fraud protection dept. They denied the charge, just leave it at that!  I used the same card at Walmart, it went through no problem.
I've had a 32" flat screen for about 3 years. It's perfect as my viewing distance is about 8 to 9 feet. I have a relative with a 60" at the same distance. It's like sitting in the front row at a theater constantly moving your head and eyes trying to see everything on the screen. My TV cost $160...Smile

I've got a 19" flat screen, which I don't think they even make anymore and a 40" flat screen and they're both in the same room.

Sometimes I watch them both simultaneously.

If I put them both on the same channel without muting the volume on one, I get this weird stereo echo effect.

Sounds kinda cool, actually.

Would be totally freaky if one were tripping. Cool Wacko

The wife bought a new Smart TV too.  She gets the signal from Wi-Fi.  Confused

This one has good audio quality, compared to the 12 inch screen (tube type) TVs I have had out here for a few weeks now.  STEREO!

I paid off the loan with the credit union.  I have a closing date on the new house.  I told Mama...If there is anything you need, now is the time.  What is the first thing she buys?  A new iPhone!  I think she just loves me for my money.

I suppose she bought her fancy new TV with your money too?

I hate to say this and I don't mean to offend you, but speaking as (hopefully) your friend, it sounds to me like you're better off rid of her.

Anyone who'd go out and treat themselves to something like that on the dime of somebody who she knows has as much on his plate as you do right now, sounds like a user.

We are working through this together.  She could have gotten half of the money I got for the house.

She is covering the bills here, I have no ill feeling towards her.  She wants a 'Pro Se' divorce.

It's a no muss, no fuss divorce.

Just found out recently that one of my college roommates passed away a couple of years ago at the age of 60.

I hate to say it, but even back then I suspected that he might not live to a very old age

He was a type 1 diabetic who didn't closely watch his diet. Ate mostly hamburgers swimming in ketchup and pizza. Aside from French fries, I never saw him eat a vegetable.

From the later pictures I've seen of him, it looked like he hadn't changed his habits much, as he was pretty rotund.

We were roommates for about 2½ years, but we were never very close friends. We were just different kinds of people who liked different things.

Outside of smoking weed, playing golf and basketball, he wasn't interested in much else.

Girls, of course, but then we all agreed on that subject.

His parents bought the house for him to live in while in college. The original plan was that they would pay for his 1/3 share of the $360 per month mortgage payment (it was the early 80's, so yes, you could get those kind of payments) and he'd rent out the other two bedrooms at $120 per month each and send it to mom & dad. Of course, that $240 a month just became his spending money.

Spoiled rich brat. Daddy was a retired US Army full Bird Colonel.

Lazy, too. Even though he was smart enough to be an engineering major, he almost never went to class. We'd sit up pretty late partying most nights. The other guy and me would drag our asses up around 7:30 and get to class by 8 - 8:30. On the days I only had one class, I'd come home around 10 and he'd either still be sleeping, or stretched out in his beanbag on the floor in front of the TV, hitting the bong.

Lazy housekeeper, too. The place was always a typical college guy dump. Beer bottles strewn about, ashtrays overflowing. Sink piled up. Garbage can overflowing. If one of the other two of us didn't occasionally clean the place, we eventually would have had to live outside because the inside would have gotten filled from floor to ceiling with garbage.

I'm exaggerating, but only a little.

True story.... at one point, he neglected to pay the garbage bill or something. The piles of stinking black plastic garbage bags began piling up. There was a small utility room right off the kitchen, so one day I started tossing them all back in there. When I was done, you couldn't open the door from the kitchen because the bags of garbage were packed in there wall to wall.

Finally, after I bought a small pickup truck, we loaded them up one day and drove them out to the dump, then came back and mopped the floor.

Eventually, the other roommate took charge of seeing that the bills got paid on time. Probably deducted it from the rent.

In his obit, I found out that he'd finally graduated with an engineering degree.... at the age of 45. That would have been around 2003. We were in college together from '81 to '83.

Anyway, I guess I'm feeling a little older today.

RIP Shawn M.

Interesting. Probably not the eulogy he'd want, but interesting nonetheless.

RIP, Shawn.

Amy, from the Title Company, called me yesterday, they have instructions for me on how to do a wire transfer.  I talked to a Ryan today.  What the Title company wants is the email address for the agent that will handle the transfer. Of course they will need the sum owed and my/our authorization to send the money.

Some good news, I think, on the TV and Internet service. Way back when I accidently dropped AT&T.

Some cheap phone (plug in) plan that canceled out my internet service.  I was pissed and called Charter.  5 days without internet service!  Back when we had AT&T, the internet signal came through the phone line.  I don't remember any problems with speed.

Shirley, these old places in my new neighborhood have phone service! I will have DirecTv as well.

I bought 2 more jugs of cat litter, aside from drying time, I should be done with that tomorrow.

I unloaded the tool boxes, the mover insist the tools be removed from the boxes.

Each container is probably 80 to 100 pounds.

My COVID-19 "scare"....

Yesterday evening, I noticed that I had developed a case of the sniffles. My sinuses were draining in my throat, and also causing a runny nose. I had a slight headache and was feeling a little woozy, off kilter, and a bit tired and drained, too.

Of course my first reaction was....

CORONAVIRUS??????? Shocked Shocked

I immediately begin Googling symptoms.

Then I started tearing the place apart looking for my thermometer.

Couldn't find it!!!!

"DAMMIT!!!! why am I so disorganized???? I can never find anything when I need it!!!!!" Angry

Finally found it. Took my temp.

A nice, cool 98°. Thumbs Up Cool

I figure it was just excess pollen in the air. I used to have hay fever really bad when I was younger before it eventually went away on its own, but I still experience some lesser effects of pollen around this time of year.

By the time I went to bed, the symptoms were gone.

Yayyy!!!! Clap

I've got another truck load of crap to get rid of. The 2 metal trash cans that I dumped hot ashes in from the wood burner. About 8 gallons of used oil. An old TV, scanner and boom box. Some used anti-freeze.
Probably 12 bags with dried out paint cans.  I'm not going to be able to get all of this stuff out of here.

The landfill is still not accepting Haz-Mat items.

I've got a sheet of wafer board and some 2 X 4s left out there.  I need to build a ramp so I can get the tractor in the back of my truck.

You might have to get a hazardous materials disposal company to come out and haul it away for you.

Around here, the county operates two or three drop off sites for that stuff.

You have to haul it there yourself, but there's no charges or fees.

Occasionally, they hold special collection events at different places around town.

You just pull up, stay in your car and volunteers off load it for you.

Could you possibly take it to your new place and store it there until the landfill begins taking it again?

The buyer said if I have to leave something behind, not to worry too much about it.

I've worked up a sweat twice today!  I built a ramp for the tractor after my trip to the dump.

Now, I'm waiting on phone calls to get the Wire Transfer worked out.  Hurry up and wait!

I'm going to leave some stuff behind. They know I am on crutches with a bad hip.

The buyers were kind enough to give me till the end of the month to get moved out.

I didn't bitch too much about the delay getting my money.  Bankers!  They do it with interest!

I'm getting my Walk Through tomorrow morning.  I have a list of things I want to check out.

Is there a phone line, is there an outdoor antenna, (Is your refrigerator running)

Window sizes, among other things.

I got my 'walk through'.  I didn't even see the antenna tower the first time!  I suppose there is an antenna up there. The trees are so dense, I couldn't see it.  Still not sure about the phone line.  The grass has still not been mowed Angry and it was wet.  I didn't want to get my shoes all wet.  I plugged the fridge in, turned it on.  There is hot water. I found my mailbox with some of the sellers mail. I'll give that to the seller tomorrow.

I noticed the tower in the pictures and how dense the tree is around it.

If you want to use an antenna on that tower, you might have to trim the tree branches up there.

They will block the signal if they are around the antenna.

Or maybe extend a pole up above the tree top.

My closing is at 10:00.  The internet will be cutoff sometime after noon.  Not sure when I will be back online.  If I can't get TV reception, I may just get a room somewhere.  Some place next to good food.

I should have bought a laptop!
