Yep. Omicron. A scratchy throat, some night sweats and just feeling mildly crappy. I was given ten days off from work, used eight and really, could've gone back after five. Compared to other people, especially considering my age and heart problems, I lucked out. |

I had the original Covid like 2 years ago (probably twice), it was just a one-day cold. Sugar has tasted nasty since then. It took 6 months before I could stand to drink milk again (just the slight amount of sugar in it made it horrible to drink), and I don't think my taste buds are going to recover any further. Which is a shame, because I liked making desserts, but it's pointless now as I can't enjoy them...

I'm glad I didn't lose my sense of taste. On the other hand, if I did, I wouldn't have just scarfed down two bowls of Blueberry Cheerios, and be considering a third. But hey, maybe sugar's the problem. Maybe a different kind of sweetener would taste better. I have a little squirt bottle of monkfruit sweetener that I use sometimes. It's the best I've found. |

Yeah, I was going to say most people who would get that reference are dead. I'm actually trying to pass it on to the young people at work, and get them using it. That one, and "pusillanimous pussyfooters". So far, it's not working. Of course, half of them don't even speak English. |

You should not only use it, you should start looking for any opportunity you can find to shoehorn it into every conversation.
Anytime one of your hip, young coworkers says anything to you, respond with "That's fire!!". Them: "I'm gonna go move that pallet of tennis shoes away from the back door" You: "That's fire!!" Them: "I'm gonna go to the crapper and take a dump." You: "That's fire!!" Or maybe even better yet, "Bruh, that's fire!!". Not sure, but I don't think they say "brah" anymore. I think it's "bruh" now. |
