Dayum! I got another check yesterday from the Fire Department, only $100. My stupid ass insurance company denied the claim so they billed me. I paid it, about $855 total. I wonder how much the helicopter ride was, I probably have it on paper. 8 pages itemized. Today! Sometimes, I'm a day late checking my mailbox. Today! I get another check from the insurance company. Their paperwork just confuses me. This time...$1750! I'm gonna need some more deposit slips! |

My timing was finally good with the mail lady today. I got the check from the ex, too bad I was just at the CU. She dropped off a package too. I don't understand how I can order stuff online and it's usually here within 2 or 3 days. I ordered something from Walmart and it takes them 10 days to get it out here!

I just got a call from one of the many people/places I owe money. This lady was giving me heck for paying more than the bill was... No, she was very nice. I do keep very close track on my balances with all of these people. My (former) ass wipe insurance company has decided to step up and pay some of the bills.

I got two Social Security related attempted scam calls this morning. The first one got disconnected right after the scammer on the other end came on and I said hello. The second one I got to have some fun with. The guy who had an obvious foreign accent, told me he was with the IRS and gave me a badge number. Supposedly, someone had gotten my SSN and used it for illegal purposes. Failure to comply with the call could result in criminal charges against me, etc. etc. So I acted surprised and "cooperated" fully. Gave them a fake name and fake birth date. Then when the guy asked for me to confirm my SSN I gave him.... 123-45-6789. The phone went dead immediately. I can't wait for the next one!!!! |

As soon as the man asked for the SSN which he knew was fake, he hung up. That's not a surprise in the least.

Had my 2nd vaccine today. Doing good. Only have a slightly sore arm. The 2nd vaccine has more side effects than the 1st. I'll keep you updated
Went to Kroger near my house. There was a power outage. No groceries were bought. Came home and there's a power outage there too. It's been a mostly sunny day in the low 70's with occasional wind gusts. There could be even more wind gusts on Thursday night/Friday morning, up to 60 mph, with power outages a possibility.

I'm filling out my application for financial assistance from the hospital. This is work! MAKIN' COPIES! They want a lot of information and the paperwork to back it up. Bank statements, tax returns and the list goes on. I've been at it 3 hours straight and I'm not done yet.

Well about 10 hours after receiving the 2nd vaccine, I've had some of the common side effects that result from it. Headache, tiredness, back pain, etc. I've been in bed most of the day. Hoping by tomorrow I'll be back to feeling better.

An odd piece of mail today. It appears that the Jehovah's Witness people want to recruit me. A hand written note, very nice penmanship, quoting scriptures like... John 4:9 Mark 20:28 I'm glad they didn't show up at the front door! Speaking of that, at the other place some local pastor/priest came to the door. I had a sign on the door...No Soliciting! Yes! That means you too, Jesus. It pissed me off! I told him he was more concerned about his collection plate than how I am living my life. |

I heard that because of COVID, rather than walking around knocking on doors, the Jehovah's Witnesses are staying home, sending emails instead. So if you get an email with the title "Knock knock... Hello??? Is there anyone home????" You might want to just sit quietly and pretend you're not there. |

The mom-in-law bought us a door mat that said..."Leah says, wipe your paws." With a German Shepherd on it.

Games of chance, risk VS reward. I remember before the market crashed in 2008, I was getting about 8% interest on my savings. The CU is now paying about .33%. F8ck you very much! This has never happened...winning more than once on one scratch and sniff ticket. 4 winning numbers for a total of 80 dollars. Give me some of that big money! |

The back door to the garage wasn't closing properly, so spent the afternoon fixing it. At first, I thought it wasn't fitting into the frame because the house might have been settling, but it turned out that the hinges were coming loose. Fortunately, the bottom hinge didn't break, so it was just a matter of drilling out the rivets on the top ones, lining up the steel door again, and popping some new ones in. Should last another 30 years...

Played at being a prepper today. Bought a 20lb bag of rice for $8, neatly filled up 3 1-gallon milk jugs (about 49 cups of rice.) Something's been telling me to stock up for months, finally acted on it. Should keep for a few years until I eat it all...
Watched Shark Tank tonight. It was jarring, until I realized that the audio was out of sync with the picture by about a second or two (like a 70's dubbed kung-fu movie.) Even 20/20 was affected, so it might have been a network thing... |
