coffee sucks
I think the craze ran it's course and the economy is snapping people back into reality.
I would not feel bad for the founder, he'll be ok.

I agree with Shadow, with the way things are theres no way that you can justify spending money on their fru fru coffee when it's cheaper to get it somewhere else, or better yet make your own. There are too many Starbucks as it is, they need to thin the herd.

All companies close stores from time to time, mine closed a bunch of stores back in 2001-2002, but we've since revamped a lot of things and got better higher management in place.

I'd say that's about it especially when as Heza pointed out you consider gas prices. I think a lot of the other fancy coffee places may go next.

Back in the good old days when gas prices were low and I actually had a few dollars to carry around, I'd go to Starbuck's for coffee and a low fat blueberry muffin every morning.

Going to Starbucks was a trendy thing, and I hate trendiness!

Wolf can verify this: When I went to Niagare Falls last year, I remember seeing 3 Starbucks within a block of each other, and 5 within a mile. Oversaturation?
