now on this board. Wouldn't it be weird to find out all of a sudden that someone on these boards, that you've been talking/posting to regularly for 2-3 years, turned out to be a co-worker or some guy that you always happened to pass by on the way to work or during some other part of your routine?

That would either be very cool, or very embarrassing!

It happened to me.  A former regular here was married to a guy who's now married to a former boss of mine (who I went out with once or twice).  In other words, I knew her ex-husband's current wife.  That is, her ex-husband and I went out with the same woman.  He ended up marrying her.

I lived in San Francisco from 1980 through 2002.  While on CIH one day, I noticed this CIH member lived in San Francisco, too, and was about my age.  I figured I'd ask what her sphere was, in SF.  That is, where did she live, where did she hang out, etc.  I mentioned I worked from '81 through '87 at a hospital in my former SF neighborhood.  She said "let's talk about this via PM".  She PM'd me and asked if I knew such and such a person who also worked at this fairly large hospital.  Seems the person she knew quite well was someone I knew really well back then, too.  I replied with one of the photos I took of this woman about 1985.  She forwarded the photo to the woman, who she'd become friends with over the years.  As a result, I got in touch with this ex-boss, who was, at this point, living in Maine, and who I hadn't had any contact with since about 1991.  I forget who called who, but the first time, she had me on the phone for three hours.  That woman can talk!  I remembered it was the same when I worked with her.  It was pretty cool talking to her.

I also became friends with the CIH member, and used to visit her occasionally in SF.  She's since moved to the East Coast, and I keep in touch with her.  It's been awhile, though.  She owes me an email.

Also, it turns out we'd been in the same house in SF during that same period.  Probably went to some of the same parties, passed each other on the street, maybe even talked to each other, etc.  She also used to go to the comedy club I used to be a doorman/bouncer at in the Haight in the early '80s.  I probably had to kick her out once or twice.  Wink

What are the chances, huh?

Here's the woman, from about 1985, we both knew.

Here's me from about the same time, with another co-worker.  I'm the white guy.

If it were to happen, I'd just be glad CIH is a commercial hating site.  It could be much much worse if you met someone online and found out later exactly who he/she is:

^  I watched a Lifetime Television for Women movie awhile back.  In it, there was this town big-wig (a married fellow) who used to frequent prostitutes.  Unbeknownst to him, his college daughter had become a prostitute.  One day, when he was staying at a hotel, he ordered up a woman from some high-priced call girl business, and a little while later---knock knock.  "Daddy!"

Alas.  They didn't get it on.

^^ Talk about an awkward moment LOL

I wonder how many times a guy has been at a strip club when (much to his surprise) he sees "Daddy's Little Girl" take the stage.

Or his wife ...

I'll never have to worry about any of this.

I don't have any friends.

Nobody loves me.

Nobody emails me.

Nobody knows I exist.

Life sucks.

I lied.

It seems like such a small world sometimes but geographically speaking the odds are worse than winning powerball. I bet, IMHO. That is all.

Yes, you did.

Life doesn't suck. It mostly just sticks to anally screwing everyone with no lube, no preparation, and with a cactus skin in lieu of a condom.

I was best friends with somebody in Juneau AK. in the late-1970s, and we lost touch when I moved out of town in 1984.

Just for shiits & giggles, I put up the following web page in 2010:

Looking for John Robbins from Juneau AK. USA!!!

He called me on the telephone in mid-December of that same year!!! Beer
He's now living in Arizona, and has a wife & two rather large puppy dogs.

A few months ago I stupidly told a co-worker about CIH because we were bitching about commercials. Almost immediately I realized that was not a good idea because occassionally I do gripe about work and co-workers and she might pass something along to someone I wouldn't want to know about it.  It's also not a good idea to have a username that IS your name (for me, once I started using it years ago it was just easier to keep using it for everything).  Luckily like most things, this woman was just making conversation and didn't really plan on getting on CIH--yeah!

Codtaro, you sound like you may be having a terrible day like I am--except in a much different kind of way LOL
A new study finds that people who are chipper & happy live longer. Which is surprising because people who aren't chipper & happy want to kill people who are always chipper & happy. David Letterman

Looks like you were trying to do the beer emoticon for some reason it doesn't work Beer

Back on topic, it would be cool in theory to run into one of you from the forum. In reality it would be awkward.
One good thing about TV-you could always turn it off

Yeah, I finally figured out something I shoulda known long, long ago, & that is to never allow, as George Castanza put it, "worlds to collide".

I don't tell anyone I know about this forum, I don't tell people on other forums about it, nor anyone on this one about those other forums.

What I shoulda known years ago is not to introduce friends from one place to friends from another place. Nothing bad ever came of it for me, but it's just not a good idea.

Great news guys.... With the Air Hawk, flat balls are no longer a problem!!!
