To be fair, a lot of the 2016 deaths were elderly people in their 70's, 80's and 90's. The celebrities dying in their 50's and 60's is rally bad, considering that people old enough to be their parents outlived them. Jose Fernandez's death was perhaps the saddest one of them all. Dead at the young age of 24 when people old enough to be his great-grandparents are still alive. So tragic and sad.
Using nuclear weapons on problem people is not the answer, you psychopath!

Also, Keith Richards is a damn cockroach outliving everybody! LOL

It's just gonna get worse.  Think of all the rock stars and other celebs from the 60s, 70s and 80s, who are still alive but are now at "that age".

I mean, how much longer do Jagger, Richards, McCartney, Starr, Dylan, Clapton, Osborne, etc. have?

I agree with you Thor. Most of the people who died in 2016 were really old. I wouldn't be surprised to see a RIP for at least one of the people in your list before the end of 2017. Though someone did have this hilarious quip about Keith Richards. "Keith Richards is a damn cockroach outliving everybody!" LOL.

I'd say another good ten to twenty years or so each.

Paul, Mick & Ringo will probably each make it well into their 90's. Dylan & Clapton mid to late 80's. Keith & Ozzy... those guys' innards are likely so pickled they might make it past 100!!!

Plus, Ozzy probably sold his soul to the devil in exchange for eternal life, so he might well be rockin' into the next couple of centuries.

Assuming the world still even exists by then.

Jimbo, to be fair, if you sold your soul to the devil, you would not have eternal life. I don't think the devil would go for that! ;)

Of course he would. That's how he gets ya.

Haven't you ever watched Alfred Hitchcock or The Twighlight Zone?

He offers you eternal life in exchange for your soul, then makes that life miserable. Like getting you to commit murder then getting you sentenced to life in prison. Or having you become marooned by yourself on some deserted island in the middle of the ocean with a huge chest packed full of money.

Or leading you into getting a job at Walmart....

Sorry Thor...

I absolutely could not resist that one!!!

I meant that if he gives you eternal life, you NEVER die meaning he never gets your soul. ;)

I don't think that is correct.

I don't think you need to die for the devil to get your soul.

Your mind and body continue to live (in misery) while the devil adds your soul to his collection.

Well, Mick at least needs to last awhile.  He just had his eighth kid.  He needs to live to 90 if he wants to see the kid graduate high school.

Paul & Ringo too, from what I understand, are both vegetarians and are both obviously in pretty good physical condition for their age. I'm sure they exercise regularly too.

Last I heard about Jagger, he runs several miles a week.

You don't get up on a stage and jump around, strut like chicken and wiggle your ass all over the place for two hours straight, all while singing at the top of your lungs and not be in very good physical condition.

If they stay disease free, I'd give them to their mid 90's easy.

Don't know how much longer they'll be rocking & rolling though.

Well, maybe they'll continue...

...in a manner of speaking.

Greg Lake earns his MudMonkey Merit Badge!
R.I.P.
<intro.mood.music>
I had the good fortune of meeting Greg Lake (along with Emerson and Palmer) in '73 or '74, in Mannheim, West Germany, when I did some stagehand work for ELP.  Wonder how many people realize he wrote 'Lucky Man' when he was 12 years old? Such a simple song, the mood is more generated by the tone and Emerson's strong Moog work. Carl Palmer was in Mannheim earlier this year claiming it was his first time ever to the city, so I would say, as the last surviving member of the group (and all his group does is play ELP stuff), HIS days are numbered as his 'gears are clearly slipping' (ELP played Mannheim a few times between '70 and '75).
~~~
Thor makes a valid point about the aging of the last of the real musicians...the footrace to the grave should be going into full-blown free-fall any minute now - crap, don't believe me? Just look at Robin Trower (talented, but I never cared for his stuff) these days as he approaches age 72! Yea, he's looking a bit like he's getting ready to swap his guitar for a walker any minute now.
The last pic I tried to post did the RED X thing, so here's another recent on, but he looks a lot healthier in it...
Robin Trower tour dates and tickets
...and, Adn? WinkJust look at the board! We've lost a few, probably more because most of us end up being rude bastards and never give anyone a hint - never tell anyone they plan to croak...sh*t happens, doncha know.
Here's Loverboy in a National Car Rental commercial.  Yikes.  Oh well, they sucked, anyway.
Shocked...never listened to 'kiddy rock bands' like them, but daaaamn! Those guys CAN'T be as old as you or ol'mule, can they? They look like they aged quite poorly.
They were one of those bands where everyone had hair perms.  I don't think I've ever liked any perm bands.
Loverboy had that one big hit that they're most well known for and which is an enduring icon of early 80's MTV rock n roll....
Great song and still one of my favorite 80's tunes.
Unfortunately in the above video, the actual song doesn't begin until a couple of minutes into the clip, so if you want to rock out without sitting through a lot of yammering, you'll have to skip ahead to around 2:20.
Always found that song to be generic Huey Lewis-type fare.  By-the-numbers stuff.
