Another 89-year-old African American man has met his maker.  Fats is now on that big blueberry hill in the sky.  Early rock pioneer and legend!

I remember hearing his song "Ain't That A Shame" in the movie October Sky which I watched in Science Class way back in the early 2000s. Never actually knew he was still alive!

With a nickname like "Fats" (one that fit him well) he's lucky to have made it to 59 much less 89.

I'd say he was probably on borrowed time for the past 3 decades.

Anyway, RIP to Fats.
Great news guys.... With the Air Hawk, flat balls are no longer a problem!!!

Not many left from that era.  Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard are the two that come to mind.

RIP, Fats.  I always liked his hits, and I've been meaning to listen to some of his lesser-known songs for awhile now.  Maybe I'll do that right now.

edit:  Not one of his better songs:

He was an institution in New Orleans, whenever I went down there for some of that authentic Cajun food, I always found out where he was performing.
He was a nice man, and a fine piano player/singer as well.
Rest In Eternal Peace, Fats!

This guy had actual talent and could sing varied, non-repetitive lyrics. Can't say the same for today's autotuned pop tarts!

I wonder who Sal was and why they didn't want him to have that record?

Yesterday the Saints had a "FATS" sticker on their helmets.  RIP Fats.
