So, I go to this grocery store nearly everyday, sometimes with the husband, sometimes without. He has this weird thing about not buying groceries a week at a time, but that is another story.
I head to the deli down one of the new one-way aisles, passing several other customers as I go, to stand directly next to another customer at the deli getting a sandwich also. This does not bother Publix.
At check out, I have 2 people in line behind me, not near 6 feet, but IDGAF. My husband has loaded the groceries to the conveyor, and starts to proceed forward so I can get to the credit card machine to pay. The little prick at the register yells at my husband to "get back in the box" (a series of tape lined on the floor to indicate where to stand)! My husband was trying to tell him I needed to get to the machine, but he was just a little prick about it.
I was livid. First, they put up this plastic shield between you and the cashier. The bagger is wearing a mask, exposing his nose. I told him if I was going to be treating like a prisoner in the lunch line, and needed instructions on how to shop, I'd shop somewhere else.
Seriously. Maybe each customer should be assigned an employee to follow them( in a hazmat suit, of course). That way, the employee can sanitize everything someone touches and puts back on the shelf. May a lysol spritz every six feet. Perhaps remove 1/3 of their product so that the aisles can be 6 feet wide.

That's all I have to say about that.

That's unusual behavior for a Publix employee.

Two things I like about Publix is that their stores are always extremely clean and their employees are almost always extremely friendly and pleasant.

Donathan is at it again.

Please, Donathan, don't start pleading "I SWEAR I'M NOT BRENDALOU!"

Ok...I won't, but I'm not.

Don't get me tangled in to whatever is going on there.
That's all I have to say about that.

I concur. It seems "Where Shopping Is a Pleasure" is in need of a new slogan.

I go against the arrows when there is something in an aisle I need to get to.  Most of the arrow thing is to get you to wander down all the aisles & buy more stuff...

I don't need the arrows for that!
But seriously, what does one way traffic down an aisle do anyway? Am I supposed to wait 6 feet behind the little old lady while she decides which can of beans she wants? Or is it okay to pass. And if it's okay to pass, what difference does it make which direction I am passing?
The world has gone mad, and I am the last hold out, I swear.
That's all I have to say about that.

No, you're not.
I'd like to see a flash mob of thousands of people dressed up like Twisted Sister run around singing "We're not gonna take it!" in protest of some of those looney restrictions that were put in place....
