I understand car commercials where the car is driving up a building or weaving in and out of traffic but when I have seen more and more commercials lately when they are driving down a NORMAL road with houses and going the NORMAL speed limit.  Professional driver, closed course Do not attempt! at the bottom of the screen  Really?  So do not attempt to drive down a road at normal speed and drive normal?   Ok I'll make sure not to do that and risk my life.

Thank the old lady who spilled McDonald's coffee on her lap and won millions of dollars about 20 years ago. Ever since then, companies have gone out of their way to cover their butts and avoid a lawsuit, and now, we get ads telling us not to drive underwater or operate a hair dryer near open water. As crazy as the situation you described sounds, I could see some idiot plowing into a tree and blame it on whatever car commercial he or she saw, and win $10 million. Angry

There's actually a book with pictures of all the insane disclaimers companies include for their products. Ridiculous.
