Angry I hate this commercial. It shows the typical truck or car driving around and hauling manly stuff with construction guys abound because everyone knows that construction workers are the only REAL men in the world. They're showing that crap to make you want to go out and buy their truck so you'll be  a 'man'. I'm getting sick of these 'tough truck' commercials. This one adds the icing to the annoying cake by throwing in MONTH MONTH MONTH every sentence. It pisses me off!!!!Angry  Can't find the video sorry.

Ugh, this ad really annoys me, too.  I despise the hick-sounding voice the ad has.  I have nothing against people who have this accent in everyday life, but there's something about the announcer's twang that makes me never want to see the Chevy bowtie logo ever again.

Plus, one of these ads shows the truck hauling a load that looks 5x the size of the truck itself...even if it is a light load and the products are just big, wouldn't you be worried about driving that crap down the road?  These people in these big truck ads act like they are driving an 18-wheeler in regard to the workload they are carrying.  Yeah--a Chevy truck can tow an identically-sized Chevy truck without any effort, whatsoever.  Yeah right.  Disapprove  They also act like these trucks can haul ANYTHING without damaging the truck.  With the heavy-duty crap that these people are hauling, expect major scratches, at least to the inside of the truck.

Wonder if their announcer is the same as this one. Pretty sure he does those Coors beer ads, too. Different truck brand, but I hate these.

This was the announcer that I was speaking about above.  Oops!  Chevy must have another one that I don't remember, but I *think* the rest of my post refers to a Chevy ad!  Embarrassed

Bah, a REAL man drives a powder blue mini-van with a soccer mom bumper sticker and 5 screaming accidents in the back.

I automatically hate anyone who buys a truck, then never uses to it haul anything. Especially the big honking ones that look like they could haul the titanic. I mean what's the point? Want to look like a big boy without all the hassle? I always see those on the road, all shiny and clean. They look like they've never spent a day working. Guy at work has a larger truck, and a motorcycle. He tries way too hard to be cool. My husband has a small Colorado with an extended cab. It's not much but at least we USE it for hauling stuff.

Seems to me that every month in Texas is "truck month".
Ford, Chevy, and Dodge all have commercials that seem to rotate evenly though the year.

I second the Clap from above.  Most of these idiots use an old, beat-up work truck to haul crap around anyway, so the whole "I have a tough [home improvement/remodeling/hauling] job" excuse as to why they have their big truck does not fly with me.    I also notice the people who buy the trucks always bitch about how much the gas is when they fill up.  Get a Smart Car if you want a cheap tank!  A neighbor of mine has one of these train-sized trucks, and he always complains about how everyone parks so close to him, yet he doesn't realize that his truck is bigger than his townhouse!

It's worse than you describe...some of the ad copy reads:

"....drive across wide open spaces without getting stuck month! Fear no mud, sand or muck month! Save a Texas-sized buck month! "

Something that always bugs me after watching all those full sized truck ads and I think I know one reason: How come no manufacturer advertises their smaller line of trucks?
When was the last time anyone has seen an ad for a Colorado/S10/Ranger/Tacoma/etc. Everyone knows what their full sized twin can do. Not everybody needs to haul around 20ton boats.

Probably because they wouldn't earn as much money as they would on the small town-sized trucks.  Plus, who wouldn't want to capitalize on the machoness and 'size compensation' issues many men have? LOL  Call me a weirdo, but I'm a guy and I'm perfectly happy with a regular, everyday car.  If I ever needed a truck, I'd be happy with one that can't haul a small home in its truck bed.

Nothing says "manly" like pulling up to the doctor's office in an over sized pickup for a Viagra prescription.

Yeah you don't buy a truck for gas mileage. Also why do they put all this stupid luxury crap on it like the man-step, internet access, cargo sensors in the bed, and all that other garbage? It's a truck. The only luxuries on it should be an automatic transmission and an ashtray.

LOL

I don't know why they don't advertise the smaller trucks, they should though. I guess if you're a big enough poser and want to feel like a man you need a BIGGGGGG truck. I guess my husband is secure in his masculinity to drive his Colorado.....and my tiny 2 seater.

If you're gonna go the big truck route remember there is nothing manly about a man who can't get into his own truck.
