There's a newer version of this out now. Not able to find it, it had help from Ghiradelli Chocolates.  That's good!  The thought of Red Velvet cake makes me want to barf! Cake with the texture of cloth? Pft Pft!

This one looks a little better, who doesn't like chocolate? The most romantic food item I ever bought for the wife was the heart shaped VD pizza from Papa Murphy's. Tongue  Even for an older couple, some spooning in bed is always nice on a cold night in Wisconsin.

Red Velvet cake made right is to die for! It was the Missus' favorite. I never heard of it before her and never knew anyone who could make it as well as her - including some professional bakeries. All the girls on her side had known how to make a Red Velvet cake correctly for generations (it is NOT easy!!!). Many cake bakeries will only make them around Valentine's Day, or on special request. I tried to make it ONCE and got my fur rubbed for the thought. I will say she DID like DQ's Red Velvet Ice Cream creations and a few of the kids found a bakery somewhat north of Niagara where they made Red Velvet sugar-dipped French crullers that would send her into a frenzy and off of any perceived diet...all the same, a red DQ spoon always worked for me, too. Good Stuff!

This is a disappointment.  I got my wife a cupid cake every year because she (and I) like red velvet.  Damn you, DQ.

I may be a little delirious from my work and the related pain, forgive me.

I haven't heard that they have done away with Red Velvet yet...that WOULD be a disappointment.
