Group my AfgyLad son turned me on to...kind of a 'Beetle-esq'/'I Need Serious Drugs Now'-feel to their music, doncha think? I really like a lot of their stuff.

I gave those guys a listen recently. Pretty good stuff. Definitely get a Magical Mystery Tour vibe at times.
As for listening right now, MusicBee on shuffle.

...another interesting listen...but can anyone tell me why I feel sort of like a teeny bopper after listening to these cuts?
1.) Yea, that's Jack Black in the video
2.) Yea, that's George Benson on guitar, not Jack Black.

I have actually been listening to Classical music recently. I purchased several albums many years ago with the intent to someday give them a listen to broaden my taste in music.
Now that I am 61 years of age I am finally listening to them and enjoying them tremendously.
I prefer the orchestral music rather than opera, and I seem to fancy the music from the Baroque period (Bach, Vivaldi, Handel, Haydn and several others). I also fancy the Russian composers from the 19th and 20th centuries.
It is music that is timeless, it's also quite a treat when I listen to it in my earbuds while cooking. It's bloody relaxing!

I'll walk that line with you, old friend.
Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons' was a household favorite for over 30 years...and Brian Tracy (the inspirational speaker) once made a point to me I could always walk from, but I just couldn't deny...and it changed one of my behaviors forever. Brian claimed listening to music at work is more a distraction and impacts productivity...think about it - if you are going to listen to your favorite music, you won't be concentrating on your work, you won't be doing your best. If you 'Whistle While You Work', you also will not be doing your best as you aren't working 100%. Having said that, he also drew the line at Classical...that one CAN listen to while working as it has been shown to foster creative thinking and maintain calm environments. According to Brian Tracy, this meant all other music is but "Bubblegum for the brain". As we all know, he is but a man with an opinion - a GOOD one and one I can respect and with which I will agree until the gummed-up summary.

You have things that shuffle? OOOOooooooooooooooooold Peeps 'shuffle'. Do YOU shuffle? I try not to shuffle, but now and then, I'll eat a truffle.
For now, I've decided why I can't stand this guy...he so blatantly robs from every else for style and has nothing to sing about...he's pure background noise. The ride he is on is a real hoot, though...
How many artists did he rob from in this video? Besides the obvious: George Harrison and Bruce Springsteen...and, as everyone could tell, he really covered his tail by tossing in some idiotic (c)rap.
Thus far, gets *my* vote for most meaningless noise of the year.
~~~~
Soooooo...temper the terrible with the classic.
I've also always loved this cut - as I recall, made famous as the ending credits song from the movie 'Michael'
For all of you that follow my buddy, John Prine...yes, yes, yes - John has allowed this upstart to perform with him - Todd Snider is somehow related to John, even though nobody (including Todd) has figured out how, who, or why...
Quite a long time ago, right after coming back from Europe, we were on our 'second hop', having first moved to El Paso for a few years, then to Nashville for a few more. Now, I'm no famous musician or anything, yet I actually played trombone on a live version of this cut being performed by Townes in Nashville. It was just another hot, drunken summer evening at a small bar near The Parthenon. We also had someone playing a quite violin in the background, too. Made for possibly the most tear jerking version of his famous tune.Townes Van Zandt was quite an interesting character and 'Heartworn Highway' is both great and hard to watch.
When he died, they buried him in Fort Worth, not too far away from our place. One thing I can say about this big ol' goofy life - no matter where you go across this interesting planet, there will be people you run into time and time again and it never seems to be intentional. He was one of a few I can attest to stumbling into a few times. We left Fort Worth without ever saying 'goodbye'...I hate living with regrets, but I just cannot ever see going back to Texas - no matter good times or bad, it has always been 'The Land of Too Extreme'.
...my own 'Father's Day' - only my boys called...I don't know why, but this 10 year old, very controversial effort came flooding back today. I've always loved the album, my brother refuses to listen to it to this day (it is extremely dark and some very bad things happened before it was released).
The 'crossing over song' (in my books)
I've always loved this song since the very first time I heard it on a day I'll never forget. Got the album and other goodies the day it came out in November, 1971, in Heidelberg, West Germany. Came straight home from work, grabbed a beer, lit some candles, cranked up the volume and stretched out on the floor...until sometime the next morning...turning the lights back on only to flip the album over and, also to try and figure out the album cover...
