Jeez....They are trying to kill me with cute.  I think Fiona wants a little more than just a toast.

There was a recent news story about Fiona, probably about the SB ad.

Fiona, a hippopotamus that was born Jan. 24, 2017, six weeks premature at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden only weighing 29 pounds, made her debut to the media Wednesday. Fiona now weighs 275 pounds. The Enquirer/Meg Vogel and Cara Owsley

*I* say 'Fiona on Toast' sounds a lot better than tossing any toast to the water-borne piglet!
'Fiona In A Pan' basking in a chartreuse for about 8 hours at 475 degrees.
Keep the eye! Very tasty, meaty little jelly ball - a real delicacy.

Why not 'Feast For Free On Fiona', especially considering 'pork belly futures', or even just the cost of a pound of bacon, these days?

My question is, who is the random black woman giving the toast and what qualified her, other than being black and female, out of all the other people in the room, to be the one to step up into the spotlight and deliver her inspirational soliloquy?

Or was this ad just PC garbage that was more about the empowerment of a certain socio-ethnic-gender specific group of people than it was about a baby hippo?

More so WTF is the POINT of this ad!? We're toasting a baby hippo who was born prematurely. Okay WHY? Yes it's impressive feat and the hippo is cute but how is this ad gonna get me to buy your product? That is the POINT of advertising isn't it?

The commercial will feature Rookwood's team of creatives and the Cincinnati Zoo's famous hippo, bringing together organizations with over 150 years of history and 21st-century female forces. "We are proud and happy to have Fiona partner with The Rookwood Pottery Company," says owner, Marilyn Scripps, and CEO, Micah Carroll, "Fiona's social impact highlights the best parts of our diverse community." The commercial itself is spearheaded by Rebel Pilgrim, a creative and film agency inspired by change-makers, making these organizations and their stories a natural fit explains Chief Creative Officer and concept architect, Brad Wise: "it's an absolute thrill to tell this inspiring story and partner with such legendary organizations." Concluding with an announcement of a limited edition #TeamFiona mug and the Super Fiona Sweepstakes, Rookwood Pottery's commercial will cheers the internet sensation who provided 2017 with renewed optimism. To see Rookwood Pottery's commercial, you can tune in on game day for its regional on-air premiere and for an early sneak peak, the commercial and sweepstakes will go live at RookwoodAndFiona.com on Thursday, February 1, 2018.

Yeah, it's all about the PC.  Nothing to do with cute baby hippos.  I guess we're supposed to see the black woman (and all black women by extension) as being like Fiona---overcoming, being uplifted blah blah blah.  It's all become so tedious.

Black women, white women, brown women, tan women, salmon-colored women, big women, small women, medium-sized women, fat women, thin women, tall women, short women, nice women, mean women, etc, etc, etc...

It would have been cool if Toast Leader was a real life executive officer (CEO, CFO, COO, etc.) of Rookwood.

The whole thing is completely pointless. Hence, the perfect Super Bowl commercial. *gasp* oh sorry, I meant "The Big Game" commercial. Thumbs Up ....... Ermm

Yes, they're all smiles right now, but wait until someone plays with Full-Size Fiona.  Fiona at full size likely won't share pools with two legged folks, or anything for that matter, and,  that cute little bite you saw her put on someone becomes a two pronged hole punch through the torso for that animal lover who just wanted to give Fiona a kiss.
