Talking about babies in a previous post got me thinking.  You know what else annoys me:  Naked baby butts.   Are they supposed to be cute?  Because they're not.
Yet, numerous diaper and bay product companies always demonstrate their product by wiping some baby butt.

I saw one the other day, but I don't remember who it was for, it made it through the entire commercial with no exhibitionism, but the last moment through ruined it.  Suddenly, for some reason there was a naked baby looking at the camera and then was promptly turned so that he was mooning the camera.

Annoying

The first "baby bottom" commercial I remember was for something that was "As soft as a baby's behind."  I think that was the start of the baby tush commercials.

However, as a mother (and someone who has always had a maternal streak), I think EVERY baby's butt is adorable.  They're cute.  But I think most babies are beautiful, too.

Actually, I'll never forget the first time I saw an ugly baby.  I was shocked, because until then (I was 16), I really never thought there was such a thing as an ugly baby.

I have since learned the truth! OY!

I'm reminded of Calvin's dad(of 'Calvin and Hobbes') who once said, 'I knew we made a mistake the moment I saw that little bologna loaf in the hospital bassinet.'

Baby butts are cute; I wouldn't want to be the poor kid modeling in the commercial, though....it's not like they can give permission...

Ever since my parents told me the story of my"raisin dump," where little turds and runs alike, sprinkled with raisins, sloshed out of my diaper and onto the carpet, I have been unable to stomach commercials where raisins or baby butts are prominently featured.

ZoomZoom, you're not entirely alone here.  I don't find them offensive, but I don't find naked baby butts endearing either.  And as someone else said, I wouldn't want to have BEEN that baby either.  That's a little human being who has to live down any decisions made for it before it had a chance to protest.  Most people don't think of that when they decide their baby is worth gauking at completely naked.  Too bad.

Also, as said, knowing the way those butts usually look coming out of a dirty diaper; yeah, that's pretty powerful negative visual association IMO.  I can do without it.

Big Momma, as I'm still in a funk over my last child leaving the nest, I agree.  I think I may be ready for some grandchildren.  I was a whiz at diaper duty.  Ever use duct tape to reseal one after finding out it wasn't ready to change?

Ah.  Yet another use for duct tape.  Is there anything it can't do?

Ever had that "natural" peanut butter that you have to mix, because the oil seperates from the butter?
It tastes like cheap glue and cashews.
I'll take generic lite any day!

I've had peanut butter "sandwiches" and raisin "sandwiches", but that was a while ago.
However when I'm elderly I think I will enjoy "sandwiches" anew.

I buy Kroger brand natural crunchy.  While I don't like the mixing part, once it's done, the stuff is great.

Baby parts in commercials in general irritate me. I know we've already touched on the "you obsess over your babies belly, we obsess over what goes in your babies belly" Gerber one, but it's just another baby part that doesn't sway me in any way.  Butts, tummies, hands and feet, heads, what parts don't get used besides the back of the kneecap and the unmentionables, honestly!
