Thanks, Big Momma!!  Yep, I took those pics with my 37 y/o Pentax.

And, likewise.  I want your dog.  He's beautiful.  D'ya think he'd get along with my cats?

I also want that shed in the pic.  That's exactly what I'd like for my backyard.  I love natural wood.

I love natural wood too, I hate it when people buy those wonderful, old houses and paint over all that beautiful, carved woodwork!! Mikey would love your cats! He adores Ginger, he laps her little face and sniffs her all over, he usualy gets a swat for his trouble!Big%20smile

No pictures to post, I love all of everyones pictures of their best friends.

I'm very sad here today. I lost my favourite 12 year old ginger tabby named Puffy.

He had a sudden kidney infection that was incurable, so we opted to have him put to sleep.

It hurts really bad, I loved him so much!

He killed every mouse, bird, squirrel, rabbit, mole, etc. in our whole neighborhood.

He was a terror, but was the happiest, loudest purring cat I've ever had.

G'night all. I just had to check in to relay this sad bit of info to other animal lovers.

I have pics of my cats on my digital camera but I don't know how to get them to the computer, I don't have a memory card reader but I have a CD that has hardware that came with the camera, do I use that???Question

dang, Jimmy that sucks, I hate that when it happens.

I remember when we had to put down Sheba (one of the most nicest cats I've ever known) because she had cancer, wasn't one of the better days of my life.

Ad, do you a usb cable?  If so, load the cd and it should prompt you to upload from the camera using the cable.

You can also take the memory card to Walgreens, etc and create a cd.

Thanks to all of you!

You're all so kind. That's why I love this forum so much, you guys are real.

Puffy will be remembered with so much love by me, but he'll never be replaced.

I've had cats before, and I have some others now, but Puff was very unique.

I always called him "a good bad boy". That was my buddy.

(to Thor, it's one of the roughest decisions you'll ever have to make, and I hope you'll never have to have it done to your friends)

Jimmy, I had to put down my beloved Brittany spaniel, Louie, some years ago, he was 16, so old and so sick. I also went through it with one of my kitties, Mr. Katz, I hope you know that the decision you made for your darling friend was correct and humane, it doesn't stop the hurt though. Don't let anyone say "he was just a cat", our pets are a part of us always.

After my cats inevitably die, I'm just gonna try to keep in mind that they had great lives, and  the sorrow I'll be feeling at that point will be sorrow for myself.  That is, it's all about me at that point...and that's something I'll be able to get over.

We'll see how that works out.

One of the "happy places" (Wacko) I go to as the need arises is back to the Friday at 1am about 5 years ago when, after Mickey had been missing for 5 days and I'd about given up hope, I heard his meow coming from the backyard.  I was upstairs, getting ready to go to bed, when I heard a meow, looked out the window into the backyard, and saw him looking right up at me.  He was hungry, but not particularly phased about having been gone for 5 days.  I, on the other hand, was ecstatic.

Never did figure out where he'd been.  I'm thinking he got locked in someone's shed or something.

My kittie groucho ran away almost two years ago when my daughter left the door open.  He is not an outdoor cat even though he was huge and had his claws (made me feel a little better).  He never went far when he got out so I knew he had to be close.  I searched all over out neighborhood.  I paid the kids to look for him and everthing.  I would drive to the spca everyday and cry when he wasn't there.  I had that cat longer than my kid.  I still get a little excited when I see a black & white cat in the back yard.  I miss my kittie.  It sucks too cuz people are like " its just a cat".  THose people SUCK.

I know how you feel, I was telling Jimmy about all the emotions I went through when I had to put my first kitty to sleep almost 6 years ago.  I cried for weeks.  I don't have any kids, I got her when she was 6 weeks old and she lived to be 18 1/2.  So... she was like a kid to me.  I ignored people who said "it's just a pet" who thought I should not feel bad after two or three days.  They are obviously not animal lovers and they wouldn't understand if I even TRIED to explain it.

Thor, having gone through that, I agree with you.  You'll just have to remember that you gave them a great life with lots of love, and they were better off in life because of you.  I think that's the only thing that helped me get through it.

I just had to have my almost-10-year-old kitty put down a couple of months ago.  It makes me feel a little better believing that she's with Daddy(my late husband)now.  I also think that if she's got a litter box up there, he has to clean it!

Ha I'm glad I'm not the only one who made an LOL dog of their pictures, I couldn't resist doing this one for mine... he was such a baby in this picture though, he won't even fit in his hand made costume anymore!

And last but not least, my bitty baby Loki, I have hamsters but I didn't want to clog the post with my oversized pictures that I'm too lazy to scale down...

Loki, what color eyes does he have? Are they really green or is that the camera flash?

Posted By: Hezadancer
Date Posted: 31 May 2008 at 12:58am
He has brown eyes just like Spock, I don't believe I've ever seen a Pappy without brown eyes, but man would green eyes be cool!   My camera doesn't like dog eyes, it turns Spock's eyes golden and Loki's eyes green, although they are both dark brown. If I use the flash that would eliminate that the dogs have to be still, I like taking action pictures (like the one of Spock above) so I leave the flash setting with the least delay on.

And one more of crazy Spock for good measure...

A few weeks back, Atilla was one of two pups acquired by the International Wolf Center  from the Wildlife Science Center.
BTW - Wolves are born with Blue eyes - but the eyes NEVER remain blue - they change (Brown, Gold, Grey, or Green).

I started out calling her George when she first showed up because she always kept her tail down & I couldn't tell.

A few weeks or so after I started feeding her everyday, she started pointing her tail straight up & I could see that "George" was a "Georgette". So then I started calling her "Georgia" for awhile.

But since then I've taken to calling her "PunkinPuss" or just "Punkin" for short.

I'll post some pics soon.

Puffin on a Warm Concrete Floor (covered with an I/O {Indoor/Outdoor} rug, that is).
We have a second kitty, Pookie, but I can't dig up a photograph on the spur of the moment.

I love watching dogs interact.  Cats, not so much---their interactions often involve blood and fur and claws and some pretty ugly sounds.

A friend of mine has a black Lab and a black Lab/Dalmation.  They're inseparable, and seem to really like each other.  But when food or treats are involved, or there's human attention to be had, all bets are off.

Somedays, he is just the only "person" I want to be around.  LOL

She's doing pretty good. No, I found it at Kmart for around $30. It wasn't until I moved it to the living room window, that she really took to it. Lots of bird/squirrel action going on there....she'll sit there for hours.Approve

Edit. Just noticed the date is wrong again.LOL
