Well, I survived Irma and so did my house. Lots of small tree limbs down but didn't see any large trees uprooted. I have no power though. I'm parked in front of a hospital a couple of miles from home using their WiFi signal. Think I'll go inside and try to scare up a cup of coffee if I can.
Guess I'll be incommunicado for awhile. Don't know when they'll get the juice flowing again in my hood. Till then, keep on h8'n them ding-danged, gol-darned commercials!!!! Hey, I just thought of something.... with the power out, I won't have to see any of them!!! I guess there are benefits to getting slammed by a major hurricane after all! TTYL. |

You selfish little bastard! YOU weren't using it and right now there are a LOT of people who COULD use it. Maybe someone is - if our tax dollars bought your generator, I sure hope it is helping a family in need. You should thank the big guy above for how good you have life...you go on vacations and have generators, you ride scooters all over...and you don't even work. |

At least they stole something they might've needed. Seems other Irma thieves were breaking into sportswear and sneaker stores. What a surprise.

Yay!
I'm so happy that you guys in Irma's path survived with very little damage. PaWolf does have a point, regulus. Did you even really have a generator? Like not being able to take pics or video of the Total Solar Eclipse you kept banging on about (even in your signature) and then nothing? Glad you're out of harm's way though. Saw the looting. Business as usual for some people. Glad they got videotaped and arrested though. Looking forward to Jimbo being back online. In the meantime, enjoy the coffee and silence!

Still no power in my neighborhood.
I'm back in the snack bar of the same local hospital again, having a cup of coffee and using their wifi. Bit of a mess to clean up around here. Sunday night was a wild night!!! The wind was INSANE!!! If you've never ridden out a major hurricane before, I highly recommend it!!! Actually, I don't. It blows and sucks at the same time. |

I've been seeing reports that there are as many as 15 million without power.

My power came back on this morning around 10am.
Unfortunately, my internet connection didn't. Don't know if it's my router or if AT&T still has outages. I'm here at my local Winn Dixie using their wifi... Tried to contact AT&T customer service via my Magic Jack app on my tablet but I didn't even get a ring tone in the other end when the call connected. Who knows. I'll probably be offline for awhile. Sucks. |

Be like the AfgyPup - whenever he is out and wants connectivity, he stops at a McD's.

I'm at a local hospital. They've got better WiFi here and a nice coffee shop. Nice comfy chairs in the lobby areas, too.
Just got done with an online chat session with an AT&T tech support agent. He said the service outage is area wide and that he detected no problems with my hardware. Service should be restored within 24 hours. Hope it's back today sometime. Boring at home with no internet!!!! |

My internet was down for a couple of hours earlier this morning, I was going NUTS!!
I didn't even bother calling it in. The f*ckstick said he would credit my account the last time this happened. Did he? Hell no!! |

Let's hope he has power by now - FLA can be miserable without Air Conditioning at time of year. One cannot take enough showers to beat the heat...and let's hope he didn't fall for that old "Any Shelter In A Storm"-story from the lonesome bag lady or anything like, "*I've* got 'electricity'! Want some, big fella?", from 'Brokeback Billy'.

Jimbo, how are your kitties doing? Are you at home and just at the hospital for the wifi and coffee?

He got pretty lucky if all he's having to suffer is disrupted internet service. Look at what happened to the Keys! 25% of homes totally destroyed!

Luck seems to have played a role for many.
My brother was hit head on (Tampa/St.Wrinklesburg) and didn't even lose power.
