I haven't signed into this forum in a long time, but when I saw this load of tripe, I had to say something about it! I guess the idea was to grab people's attention? What stupid pillock came up with this idea?!

Agreed! Jaw-droppingly bad ad. Makes you wonder...What are they putting in that stuff to cause that hallucination? And who wants that???

Just because you can make a computer generated creature with a human baby's legs, monkey's torso and arms, and the head of a young bulldog, doesn't mean you should.

It's annoyingly catchy, now that I think about it.

I didn't even watch the Super Bowl, but I saw this trash on Facebook, and thanks to Facebook's autoplay feature, I was subjected to this atrocity and flipped my desk when it kept repeating "puppy monkey baby."

One of the worst Super Bowl ads...probably ever. After that horrible ad aired, I commented that "someone at Mtn Dew must have been on LSD, Crack, Heroin, or a combo of those drugs!!"
They should be ashamed of themselves for wasting $5,000,000+ on an ad that has no meaning and no sense to it...other than 12-year-olds annoying their classmates with the "puppymonkeybaby" saying. Kickstart had that stupid ad a couple of years ago with the dubstep and the dancing people...this is just as bad if not worse.

This is probably the worst ad I have ever seen. Absolutely horrible, and very creepy.

I don't know what is more unbelievable.
That a profit seeking entity MADE this, or that a profit seeking entity decided to let it represent their product.

I have a feeling why this ad was green lighted - so it'll be the most talked about.

I am certain you both have hit the board with the nail in it - and it is simple to see why (even here on the board). You saw the commercial, you hated it, but you'll remember the product long after you've forgotten the commercial. Mountain Dew could care less what you thought about the commercial - they want you to remember the product, or at least walk up to the Pepsi Cooler and, if not a Mountain Dew product, grab something from PepsiCo the next time you walk into a store. They know you will do it - the insult to your intelligence will remind you it's time for a kick-start, tomorrow - but you may not immediately remember the insult.
Their products have long been wildly popular and most of you will probably buy this one. They could give a damn what you think of the commercial - they've already won and got your dollar - look at the post count on this thread alone.
Welcome to 'The Western World', brought to you and sponsored by 'My Little Capitalistic Society'...and now that we've got your attention, Puppies and Monkeys with Babies, mind if I borrow your wallets and purses? Ya know,providing 'The Wisdom o'de Wolf' ain't free and I'm heeeeere to save you!

I can't speak for anyone else, but I had genuinely forgotten the product that was actually being advertised in this commercial until I saw it in the title of this thread. I'm not sure I ever even noticed to begin with. |

^^^You did and probably didn't even realize it. 'Subtle Advertising'. Do you drink Mountain Dew? How about their higher caffine products?

I used to drink it many years ago. I've pretty much sworn off all those sodas & sugary drinks as I've gotten older.

^^^As has myself, who has managed to trade in for a gallon of green tea & honey along with at least a gallon of water, a day. Stuff like Mountain Dew? We've all been beaten down about health risks that come with over-indulgence, but it is all so cheap & easy & legal...

I stick to a diet coke in the morning for caffeine; can't stomach coffee. I did just get a new electric kettle, so I might go with the occasional tisane and tea in the morning...still, for the caffeine kick, I enjoy my coke.
Similarly, I do have some digestive complaints that a digestif usually fixes up, so mixing that with caffeine free before bed helps me out as well. Aside from those indulgences, I tend to reserve any heavy coke-snorting to when I go to a restaurant. |

(oh no - we've lost him....) Time for a new 'hobby', MrT? Been hangin' around the kiddie-section of Busch Gardens a little too much?
~~~
Damned thing looks like an escapee from 'Jumanji' - ya can't kill it for 'sport' because no reason to skin it and it is too ugly to eat. Annoying? Have to check, but may just work when it comes to 'Probable Cause'...
I clipped a pic of it out of the paper and dropped it into my "Things to Sculpt" file. Got a long list of miniatures to do before I reach it, however. Going to add wings to it and make it a really freaky nightmare (an opportunity the ad makers missed. ) Move over, flying monkeys of Oz. There will soon be a new terror in the skies...
I kinda want to meet the commercial design team and push cream pies into their faces while saying "grumpy, funky, maybe"
