Anyone else think this is some lame attempt to come up with some inflective philoso-drivel in the hopes that audience members will collectively quietly nod their heads and head to the Lincoln dealership?
I bet the day they shot the commercial went something like this.

Dir. - Hey Matt here's the script, now we were thinking...
MM (tosses script) I don't do scripts. You want a commercial? Just get your camera and get in.
(A confused DP gets in the car)
MM - Action

And the pair drive off script towards Pretentiousville.

I loved MM in True Detective and Dallas Buyers Club, heck I loved him in Unsolved Mysteries, but I think trying to be a Surfer Dude Buddha in car made for people who can't afford a Cadillac just makes me hope that the airbags deploy in mid-sentence.

He was great in 'The Licoln Lawyer' and 'Mud'.

Lincoln is more 'white bling', where Cadillacs are where you work up to when you've gotten that fancy pair of Timberlands.

Matthew Mcconaughey annoys me - in his latest Lincoln commercial we are supposed to think he's some high-rolling poker playing enthusiast who enjoys the James Bond finer things in life - yeah right, it's just Matthew Mccobaughey who hasn't done a movie in years, plus I keep picturing him in Fool's Gold, stellar acting there Mcconaughey.

I only like it because of the background music.

Erm, what? Interstellar came out late 2014, just a little over a year ago. He was also in the critically acclaimed(including an Emmy nomination for him) and well liked True Detective series on HBO that year. A year prior to that he did Dallas Buyers Club, which got him an Academy Award and a Golden Globe, as well as having a part in The Wolf of Wall Street. A year prior to that he was in Magic Mike, which seemed to go over really big with most of my female friends. I mean, I don't care about the awards, and I haven't seen any of his recent movies other than Interstellar, but it's hardly like he's been just flying under the radar recently, he's been in severally really big, successful movies, worked with esteemed directors like Martin Scorsese and Christopher Nolan, been in a really good TV series...

As for the commercials, I'm not sure why they have him driving around pontificating about random sh*t while driving a car, but at least they're fairly unobtrusive, there's no annoying pop songs playing, no screaming or yelling, no rapping...

These commercials just make him out as a pretentious douchebag. "Look at me, I'm so cool because I drive a Lincoln. Blah blah blah."
Say something clever here...

No, I'm too lazy. Imagine it yourself.
