That would be bad for business. They want you taking their medications for as long as possible, which is why so many drugs are for TREATING an illness instead of CURING it.

What's depressing? Important Safety Information and Indications for LATUDAINCREASED MORTALITY IN ELDERLY PATIENTS WITH DEMENTIA-RELATED PSYCHOSIS; and SUICIDAL THOUGHTS AND BEHAVIORS Increased risk of death in elderly people with dementia-related psychosis. Antidepressant medicines may increase suicidal thoughts or behaviors in some children, teenagers, and young adults within the first few months of treatment and when the dose is changed. Depression and other serious mental illnesses are the most important causes of suicidal thoughts and actions. Patients on antidepressants and their families or caregivers should watch for new or worsening depression symptoms, especially sudden changes in mood, behaviors, thoughts, or feelings. I often wonder the same thing. People are depressed over anything and everything now. They're depressed because they don't have as much money as the Jones' across the street. I honestly don't believe all that bunk that is spewed all over the internet and Facebook. Then you have all the depressed people coming out and uniting and trying to tell each other that what they're going through is real. Get off your damn pity pot and change your life if it is that miserable for you! I see these commercials and they live in nice homes, they have a family, they have a lot of things only some people could dream of having but yet they're still depressed. I don't care what anyone says, there is ALWAYS an underlying reason for your depression (sadness). Depression is actually a very powerful word, I prefer to say 95% of the cases are just people unsatisfied with life because they honestly do have too damn much. If you didn't have so much, you'd truly appreciate what you do have, not what you don't have.

True depression can be a chemical imbalance in the brain. I have known truly depressed people and it's not the same thing as being depressed about not having as much money as the Jones' across the street. I've had that have died by suicide because of true depression. True depression is devastating and has nothing to do with what you have and don't have. For cases like that, medication can be life saving. Literally.
My doctor tries to put me on this sh*t. He thinks that I have anxiety issues because, you know, I have health concerns sometimes and because I'm sort of a high energy person. He sees it as me being scattered and anxious. I am not, though I tell him I'll think about it to get him to stop talking about it. I wonder how many people diagnose themselves with depression and anxiety disorders based on television commercials and Doctor Google.
