I was watching one of those COPS shows today.............And I saw a female officer that was PERFECTLY SLIM..........(you never see a fat one)           With a PERFECTLY combed hair bunn...................Arrest someone...............   He tried to run but they caught him and threw him to the ground.................. All the while she was screaming in the most'est, best'est, loud voice (like she was taught at the academy)    to       "GET ON THE GROUND!"

As much as she tried..................... It still came out like a pretty game show host................... 

I kept waiting for her to yell "PLEASE."

Everyone on TV is thin and beautiful.

On TV, copstresses / copettes, all look like perky little bikini models.

On TV they easily manhandle 250 lb guys twice their size, but in real life if they so much as broke a fingernail, they'd lock themselves in their dressing trailers and pout for the rest of the day.

That's one of the main reasons I don't watch these modern era cop shows.

Too many "Hollywood actress" types being passed off as tough, bad-ass cops even though they seem totally non-believable in those roles.

If they'd cast real looking people, men included which does happen more often than with women, I'd probably watch them. 

Male actors don't seem to required to be as good looking as females do.

Seems like a double standard to me.

I remember watching one episode of "COPS" where a female officer with shoulder-length curly blonde hair was on a call.   If I recall, she appeared healthy and "fit" but kinda "thick" at the same time.

I get what y'all are saying about Hollywood beauty standards, but one does have to be at a certain level of health and fitness to be a police officer, male or female.

We were (or I was) just talking about those fake "Hollywood actress" types.

My point had to do with why the networks never (or rarely) portray female characters as being, heaven forbid, normal, average, everyday, less than perfect looking women.

I guess they think we wouldn't want to watch them.

Actually, I'd be more prone to watch shows with relatable looking characters.

But then again, I'm not in their targeted demographic age group, either.

They don't care much about what old farts like me want to see.
