Big smileYay! Started Thursday at 10 P.M. on FX channel.
This is it for the show, so it seems - but I get the feeling they must have had a LOT of fun making it. The opening episode was just great and had the occasional violent pun and reintroduction of incredibly stupid criminals ('Dewey Crowe').
Big smileThis show is just SO DAMNED GOOD!

The series is awesome, and I'm glad this season is gonna have more Raylan/Boyd intereaction...the lack of it made last season a bit weaker than the others, IMO.

They're really going out with a bang(probably literally) this season, been absolutely stellar so far.

Saw the 12th episode during the wee hours of the morning - certain to go out with a bang, there are still a lot of people that need to die in the series finale, next week.
At least Raylan's friend 'Bob' (short, fat constable with the AMC Gremlin 'police car') actually gets to the hospital alive and talking....
~~~
I know the reading I did about the making of the final season mentioned it being "tons of fun" - I think this episode had a few of those moments; things that just didn't quite fit, but had to, because they were fun, such as Wynn Duffy's moment at the bus stop (a totally deranged play on 'Forrest Gumpf' was *my* first thoughtLOL - "Life is Like a Box Full of Police Records...")
I still can't believe Wynn Duffy is even still ALIVE this far in! Will he actually make it out alive, or will he finally meet a bullet in the finale? I think we all know Boon(Boone? Sam Elliot's gunfighter with the douchestache) is gonna get shot down by Raylan, Boyd will likely either die to Raylan or Ava, Sam Elliot will likely die by Boyd's hand...
I think Duffy is going out in comic style - riding off into the sunset in an old travelling dog groomer's van - it's just too 'fitting' for the character...LOL
The rest? I agree with you, even down to who kills who..and we'll see Raylan head to Florida, in the end.
Yeah Wynn is such an amusing little weasel I could totally see him making out of things unscathed...
Big smileShocked 1 hour, 40 minutes until the finale on FX.
Confused...and now that it's hitting me, I've NEVER seen Sam Elliot ever go down and die bad in *ANY* show - but you KNOW he will in very classic fashion, tonight....I wonder how?
Something like this, a few seasons back?
Talk about ending in a very classy manner - just like a very, very well written book.
"...we dug coal together."
(WinkThanks for the catch DKS)
was the final line - Boyd to Raylan, over the prison phone, as to why Raylan came to see Boyd in person. The final scene was so, so well scripted and performed - and not expected. It was basically a 'brother speech'.
But I'll be damned if I didn't get 'Wynn Duffy' correct on my FIRST call - last time anyone saw him was a routine traffic stop, driving a mobile dog grooming business van. Name of the business: 'On All Four'LOL
This show ended wide-open for a movie, without a doubt.
I thought the final line was "we dug coal together". I was surprised Boyd ended up back in jail, I thought for sure he'd either be shot by Raylan, or make an actual getaway. I really liked the call backs to Raylan and Boyd's interactions all the way back to season 1, there was a lot of dialogue between those 2 this episode that plays on their history together, and it was great. And I was like, yep, after all this, Wynn Duffy not only weasels his way into surviving, but he even wound up with the money! Crafty little cockroach, LOL.
Did you catch Tim's dialogue when he was offscreen as Raylan was getting in the elevator? I loved that HIS last lines of the series was sarcastic banter, so perfect for the character.
You are CORRECT about the last line - I was too tired to come correct the error of my ways, glad you caught it. I watched the finale again, real early this morning. Still tired and drained - what a story. And yes - the second time around is when I came to realize it was pretty well figured out that the little weasel ended up on all fours with $9MLOL.
Yup - caught Tim's dialogue and the 'exchange of gifts'...
Here's a great interview with Walton Goggins ('Boyd') from a few hours ago...
