They play this BS on all the channels all the time.  More needless drugs to push on the people.

I looked it up but I'm still not clear about it. I think AstraZeneca is another brand of Covid vax (like Moderna or Pfizer), but also provides a boost to the immune system. Sounds OK.

And Bridges seems legit. I'll support him on this one, too.

I think AstraZeneca also provides assistance with paying for or lowering the cost of some expensive medications.

Personally, in terms of COVID vaccines, I'm a Pfizer man all the way.

This ad is actually pretty good. Jeff is a great guy and the past few years have sure been tough on him. No matter how he's feeling, he seems to try to take everything in a positive light. God bless him.

I got the Moderna for the first two, and then the first booster.

I don't know if price is much of a consideration here. I've seen prices ranging from $4 to $24 (per shot, I guess).

From some website:

The cost for AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccine intramuscular suspension - is around $10 for a supply of 50 milliliters, depending on the pharmacy you visit. Prices are for cash paying customers only and are not valid with insurance plans.

Yeah, I wasn't talking about their or other vaccines, which tend to be cheap.

But for some really expensive medications, I think they have some sort of assistance program.

Probably have to qualify based on income etc.

But at the end of most of the drug commercials, there's often a voice over that says...

"If you can't afford your prescription, AstraZeneca may be able to help".

I think they changed the voiceover during Covid.

I have no issue with Bridges or why he did the ad.

What I have an issue with is HOW he/they did the ad.

IOW, they could have just stood him in front of a curtain, or sat him in a patio chair by a pool or even had him driving a car or sitting in a restaurant.

Whatever.

And then, had him just look at the camera and speak plainly.

Instead, they had to set up that whole schmaltzy 'walking through the woods with a guitar' thing.

And rather than just talking, he's mugging and emoting.

Looks more like he's practicing his well honed craft of ACTING.

Like he was in a movie, rather than trying to convey an earnest message.

To me, it all smacks of just another typical, manipulative commercial designed to reach me by playing to my emotions or subliminal notions, etc.

i agree with the assessment of 'acting' here--its like Tom 'The Walrus' Selleck in a way
shilling for those double mortgages that are known home stealing devices for banks
this one in a month will probably grind on me IF they replay it constantly
I want Jeff to say ''far out man' at some point in this ad
that would save it

Agreed. I saw,an interview with him and he said cancer was a walk in the park compared to Covid. He was a very sick, close to death cancer patient to begin with then suffered through covid and still miraculously bullied through.

Let him have his guitar. If you ever saw the movie "Crazy heart" and his band, its all a huge part of who he really is.

The Dude abides, man.
