Pretty warm here right now and ever so slightly humid.

Supposed to be 83° on Christmas day. Only 3° shy of a record.

Don't really like that, but I shouldn't complain.

I went uptown about 6 AM this morning, there was some slushy snow at the end of our street.
I didn't notice how icy the street was until I tried to stop at the second stop sign.
Good thing there wasn't any traffic or a cop watching because I just could not stop.

Bright and sunny, warm. WINDY! I put off unloading the truck another day because the snow is melting off of the shed right on to the stack of wood.  I have to keep it as dry as possible then get it covered up.

It was icy again today, I don't know how but my truck knows this and displays it on my RV mirror.

It gives the direction I am traveling NWES and the outdoor temp. It must sense when the WSW are on?

The main roads were OK, I dropped a piece of mail offf at the post office and it was as slick as sh*t!

It can be very dangerous...

It's 83° here right now.

I'm sitting here with nothing on but shorts with the fan blowing on me.

It is cold,  C O L D !! It cuts through your clothing!
Clear skys with an outdoor temp of 7° above zero.
Sustained winds of 15 MPH and gusts to 30 MPH take our wind chill temp to -15°.

We have no temperature, it is 0°.
I took Mama's truck uptown to fill it up with gas...Brrrrski!!
It is difficult to describe how this air feels on your skin and body.

The woodburner is keeping us toasty, I think I have enough wood to make it till Monday when the temps will be near 30° with a chance of snow.

Minus 7° was the low this morning. It's bright and sunny out there, the winds have died down.
I should check the mail but I don't want to go out there AGAIN! Fat finger accident but I'll leave it. Tongue

Those friggin Packers went from losing 4 straight to winning the division with 6 wins in a row.
The Giants play here on Sunday afternoon, it should be 10 to 15° above zero at game time.

The old girl is having trouble getting up on the couch now, It's been over a year since she could get on our bed. The Glucosamine is helping but the ending is inevitable. I don't think she is in pain unless she is moving...some of her whining comes from how spoiled she is.

We played ball today! Her head is still in the game. I don't make her chase it, I just roll it towards her.
She still wags her tail and greets both of us when we get home, she gets into these happy rants at us.

She's a crazy old girl and we adore her.

Not THAT cold here on Cape Cod, but it's messy...and will get worse for Saturday.  We had 5 inches of snow this morning and here is what the NWS predicts for tomorrow:

IMPACTS...NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE AS SNOW
BECOMES HEAVY AT TIMES ALONG WITH GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS
RESULTING IN CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW WITH
NEAR WHITE OUT CONDITIONS FORECAST. UNTREATED ROADS WILL
BECOME SNOW COVERED AND SLICK. VISIBILITY WILL BE REDUCED.
  TRAVEL WILL BECOME HAZARDOUS.
Total accumulations - two feet plus of heavy snow.  Cry  Not exactly a day at the beach!

Would you like some cheese with that whine, aka ron?

You think it's cold up there...?

Even though I'm sitting here barefooted, shirtless & in my shorts with the doors open right now, it's supposed to get rainy tonight then cold over the next couple of days down here.

Could drop down into the 30's either tonight or tomorrow night!!!!

Might only go up to the 50's on Sunday!!!

So you're not the only one shivering from the cold, my friend!!!!

Same storm heading this way, think it has already been named.Ermm  3-6 inches predicted where I am but it won't get near freezing temps for a few days.
People at the grocery store had their carts full and I had like 6 items.  Our local news reporters never had to use yard sticks to measure the snow amount.

I'd close off your favorite room and use a space heater.

-4° was the low here.

It was a toasty 37° for the high today, we've had a steady light to moderate rain also.

The temp dropped off pretty quick overnight, from the mid 30s to a low of 13°.

A lot of icy parking lots, driveways and side streets. I did get about half of the wood out of my truck and stacked. I'm kinda sore in the usual places.
The truck isn't on the bump stops anymore, so I can drive it if I have to.

This mess is heading our way. We could get anything from an ice storm to freezing rain to just plain rain.

And then, temperatures WAY above normal for January.

I wanted to go to the grocery store this morning, I stepped out on the front porch to see how slick is was.   YIKES!  I'm not going anywhere!

I did go out at about 8:30 to get us some stuff from Taco Johns, the main roads were in good shape.

The side roads and my driveway are still covered with ice. I had to switch to 4 wheel drive to get into the garage.

Been a very warm January down here.

Highs in the 80's and lows in the 60's everyday.

Sunny and dry for the most part, too.

What they call "Chamber of Commerce" weather.

The weather here has also been warm but wet...then again, I'm in a swap. Guess I could say the weather is warm enough to pee off the back porch into the swamp in my underwear at dawn or dusk, but just cool enough to where no mosquitoes are around to bite me on the nuts or any other <cough.ahemm> exposed area...

The news was saying we'd get freezing rain, but it looks we got plain old rain. Not a fan of slipping on ice!

Still in the mild weather trend...I'm still trying to keep a small fire going.
I'm going to have to buy some more wood on Monday.

It's been in the low 80's during the day, dropping into the 60's overnight down here for the past couple of weeks or so.

But as you can see...

...We're expecting a cold snap next week!!!!
