Yes, to answer Pa Wolf. I am back in action.

This is my last installment in my "I Hate Movies" series. This time I'll be talking about the movies of the '90s. I mean the mid-late-90s/the early 2000s and legacy of juvenile idiocy that was left in its wake. Of all the films that I've hated in my life most of them are between the years 1994-2007.

Why? Well, this is the post-O.J. era where news became entertainment rather than information. Why go a see a Hollywood blockbuster when you can see a 20-mile f**king car chase on T.V. complete with machine guns and police cars in pursuit? It's also the dawn of the Reality TV era, as well. The point is we're looking at the era of gross indulgence, stagnation, and stupidity in all sectors of society this includes movies and films. So, Hollywood had to get on board this sensationalist bandwagon to make profits. This also includes lazy writing, plotlines, character development, lack of humor, and vicious stereotypes. Hell, this is the era where parody is not even immune to this disease. I call this disease "Immaturus-Bratitus". In the following paragraphs, I'm speaking in hyperbole, of course.  "Immaturus-Bratitus is when every character behaves like a 12-year old on meth.

In this era of movies, most of the male characters behave like a degenerate cross between an inebriated frat boy on academic probation, a jock asshole who sexually assaulted his girlfriend and raped her friend, and a 15-year-old shoplifting punk with a bowl haircut planning to shoot up his cafeteria. With the mentality of a 6-year-old boy bullying his classmates on the playground! Don't ask about the women!  The female characters (and I use the term loosely) are a demented cocktail of blonde, rich bitch cheerleader, angry ex-girlfriend, incel militant politico, drunk stripper, prostitute, abusive mother (that would give Mommie Dearest the night sweats), femme fatale, and Allison Reynolds type nutjob. With the mentality and maturity of an SJW journalist that has never left NYU for the real world, who happens to have Hillary Clinton's hairstylist circa 1998.

There is no love only the facsimile of said emotion. A candy-coating with a venomous misandrist/ misogynist bile underneath that only cares about money and prestige. The characters are shallow and obnoxious in this era, even the f**king good guys! Conflict in these movies is like a food fight in the dining hall or high school cafeteria! It's fun for only a few minutes then it's back to harassment with spitballs in science class. Character development is traded in for showing off CGI imagery that is subpar and poorly designed at best. The dialog between the bad guys sounds like two jock bullies planning to hang the good guys' underwear on the school flagpole. They even taunt the protagonist like a teenager! Don't believe me watch the scene in the movie Face-Off where John Travolta goes inside the prison to meet Cage and mocks him in singsong only to lick his face. Eww! Does sound sane to you? Bad guys don't do that unless they're cannibals (Christ, not even f**king Manson did that bullsh*t!). The dialog of a woman sounds aggressive, cold and mean to anyone who's not some pretty boy yuppie in a goddamned suit. She would growl and act out complete with a Trumpian meltdown. Women don't act this way! They tend to be more passive aggressive without the bitchiness towards men in general. Unless that man was really bothering her.

I hate movies from this era because of it's the mind of someone that never left high school or wants to recreate those days out of some Midlife crisis.  Either that or it's like a teenager that has found his Father's liquor cabinet or her mother's credit card as far as the widespread usage of CGI is concerned. They managed to insult both genders, all races, all professions, and cultures doing so! But, writing characters to speak and behave like juvenile degenerates and deranged freaks and a CGI overload cannot and will not replace clever writing, interesting characters, a proper plot, and some basis in reality, not in a fever dream.
