Living 15 years in the past, are you? Looking back to when you were three and your mom parked you in front of Cartoon Network while she entertained her male "friends" upstairs?
LOL I am so bad, just for laughing at that.

Totally unrelated, BUT... Say there were a user or users who bugged the crap out of you and contributed nothing to the discussion, and maybe even included an annoying GIF with every comment... Does this forum let you block them? Like, is there an "Ignore User" button?

Just asking. For a friend. Who goes to another school. In Canada...

Unfortunately, no, LO - this has been a request in the past. Free-form forum (until certain lines are crossed). People are allowed to go on until their behavior is 'out of scope'.

Oh. Just leave her alone. She's a minnow trying to swim in a tank full of sharks here. She's not nearly as polished in her responses, or covered enough ground in her life to have earned the wisdom that some others possess on this site and in everyday life. She lashes back with hateful words, beacuse she's not riddled with comebacks. She just wants to fit in somewhere in her life, and instead of appreciating that, you guys just rip her a new a$$ over and over until she doesn't know what to do except to start calling people names to get even. Does it make you feel tough picking on a young girl for laughs? No wonder you guys think you're all so funny. You can't tell her mind's still developing by her avater, and signature? I know you guys aren't that stupid. You call Seth Macfarlane a d!ck for doing that, yet you do that very same thing just in a different arena. Try to smash on me that way. I can go toe to toe all night. I'll set up two monitors, and dish out twice the punishment....

Actually, she hurled the first insult, when she made the "selfish jerk" remark. Screw that "innocence  of youth" stuff. If you come into a forum and pretty much insult the people there you can't really expect people to be all "Well, she's just a kid" about it.

She's been a problem here in the past, under a different name.  She hasn't changed much at all.  We've had other young adults here who fit right in, so it's not all us.

You had three posts back to back that was straight throat cutting. The first was a blatant attempt at indirectly calling her out. Then one said: Uh ha ha... There's one... I won't mention no names, but you know her... Then another... How close do you have to get someone in your line of fire before you feel they're hit...?

You must be talking about another thread, because I hadn't actually said anything prior to the selfish jerks remark and then the other one about wackos. If I said something after it (and I'm not going to bother checking, I might have) I'm sure not going to apologize for it. I would expect that insulting a group of people for no real reason would make some of them a bit peeved.

I doubt her feelings are hurt in any case, and I'll be honest....I don't actually care if they are or not. I'm sure she can put on her "big girl pants" and deal with it. Apparently she's got a history with other posters here, so you might want to consider that she might have brought that on herself. I don't know, I either wasn't around, or didn't notice her when she posted under another name. I've butted heads with Pa, Thor and a few others in the past but we all get along just fine...so I'm kinda sure its not them. YMMV of course, but I don't particularly believe in the old "she's just a kid" thing.

And may I ask exactly what about "it's" avatar and banner indicate a "still developing mind"? Adventure time is a widely popular show with mature subthemes, and many fans in their 20's-40's and some even older.

unless you're simply referring to the detestable inability to have even ONE banner that's properly sized...

Really, I dont care if you apologize. Or if you like each other. It doesn't matter to me. I just wanted you to know that you were provoking as much as you were claiming to be provoked. It takes two to argue.

So she's not even a person to you huh...? Weird... Anyway, if you know how to read previous posts, then take some time to do it. I've spent all my time getting caught up in the middle of them. I'm not reliving 2 days worth of conversation for you real quick, cuz you skipped class.

It would help knowing where to look, because I'd like to know as well. Adventure Time is just about the best cartoon out there and does indeed have serious, mature subthemes.

I'm gonna be gone for a few days so I won't be able to chime in a bunch since I won't have any internet. Anyway, one of the posters that was ripping on her labled her as an immature kid because of her avatar, and signature. And if I remember correctly, someone else chimed in and seconded it, and then they never let up since. I wen't off those comments solely, and wasn't cross threading anyone who watches the show as a child. I've never even seen the show, so I don't know. But they said she was, so that's why I said that. If you want to find it, go look for it. It's in one of these threads I was wrangled into, but sh!t they've been going non-stop. And I keep seeing new threads pop-up that I want to comment on, but I can't because I'm still stuck in these. So you guys go find it. It was one of you who wrote it. I'm ready to move on and start ripping on our original targets. The reason I joined here.

When I was young (back in the olden days), when I reached adolescence, I wanted to start doing more adult-like things (well, teenage stuff, anyway).  And cartoons were not really a part of that.  They were kid stuff.  I wanted to go to dances, hang out with friends, go to the movies, listen to more serious music, etc.  But this was the 60s, and at least the boys knew that in a few years, they might be drafted and go off to war.  We were also subjected to some serious news/issues---three major assassinations, race riots, protests, drugs, the threat of nuclear war, etc.

The times were both tumultuous and exciting, and cartoons didn't really fit in with, or address any of that stuff.  I think the last cartoon I got into as a kid was Jonny Quest when I was maybe 10 or 11.  Not that I completely stopped watching cartoons, but they just weren't important to me.

There was also a built-in problem.  Cartoons weren't on all day.  They were on early, and on the weekends, they were pretty much over by 10 or 11am.  Plus, there was only a few channels to watch them on.  We were forced to do or watch other stuff---by default.

Comic books were the same.  Around the age of 11, I began switching from Superman and Batman comics to transitional stuff like Mad, Cracked and Sick.  By 17 or 18, it was National Lampoon and Rolling Stone.  If we read comic books, they were "underground comics" like Mr. Natural.  If we saw cartoons, they were adult-themed ones like Fritz the Cat and Heavy Traffic which were never on TV.  After seeing stuff like that, Superman and Archie seemed lame.

Anyway, this might be why some people don't get people being into cartoons in their 20s and 30s.
