I've just read the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly explaining about the shows that are coming into being this year. To tell you the I'm not too much of a TV show person anymore. Personally, I'm not to thrilled about any of them. But there's one upcoming series on HBO that just has me silently screaming ENOUGH! PLEASE!  That weird-ass show is called  "Leftovers".  "LEFTOVERS?!"  Is this what they're calling a series about a "rapture-like event"  in which is treated like something in the same caliber as 9/11, the 2004 Tsunami, etc."
"This is not a spoiler! this post is based on the article I read in Entertainment Weekly."

The geek who created it says it's like Lost or something. **Sigh** There are things that bother me in TV Shows and nonsensical bullsh*t plots are one of them!  It's bad enough we have the NBC magical mystery tour called Revolution with deals with a world without technology that was wiped out for no reason with a device that couldn't possibly exist! But now we have a HBO show about the f**king "Rapture" mixed in with the surrealism/bullsh*t of Lost (can we get over this show already)! First of all the name is ginormously ridiculous! Leftovers is a plate of food covered in Saran Wrap!  Secondly, I'm having trouble with concept of people vanish into thin air out of their clothes/shoes, whatever. I know it's a fantasy/fiction and all that but, I can't buy this idea.  I don't know much about this show, I've never seen it, probably never want to see it. I would like to say it's stupid but it's not coming out until summer '14.

Nope.
Almost everyone is dead, except those that 'missed the bus'.
Even the zombies.

"The Leftovers takes place in the wake of a global "Rapture"—which may or may not be the Biblical rapture—and centers on the people who didn’t make the cut, and are left behind in a suburban community."

Why does 'Poltergeist' come to mind?Confused

I hope Meat Loaf has a part in it.

I mean seriously... how fitting would that be?????

"So, Meat Loaf, what're ya doin thesedays?"

"I've got a part in 'The Leftovers'"

"Any other food items we might be familiar with co-starring with you?"

"No, but in one scene I get to do The Mashed Potato."

Great news guys.... With the Air Hawk, flat balls are no longer a problem!!!

The premise may be preposterous, but once you get past the premise, it sounds like it could have possibilities.

When I first tuned into The Walking Dead during a marathon before the mid-season 2 premier, I figured I'd see a few zombies and be done with it.  I like zombies, but there's just so much of that I could normally take before it just gets silly.  But that's not what happened.  I saw quickly enough that it was much more than a zombie fest.

Naah.  It's not one of those shows.  The sex is minimal, and it's only been implied.  No gruntin' and groanin'.  TV sex is never good, anyway.

ConfusedI don't see how.
A community survives, but what fraction of the community is breeding age?
What fraction of them are gay?
I'm pretty sure the whole community is dommed and inbreeding will run rampant in just a few generations, all will have the same last name if they can evern say it.

I'm with Thor on this one.
The TV doesn't interrupt us during sex, but when doing duty like a woman should, the vacuuming can get in the way of things and I have to make her stop it for a minute.

Update: From what I read: "The Leftovers" is very depressing in fact more depressing than any of us can bear.  So, I avoid it at all costs, even though it's not "Left Behind" with it's insanity and fundamentalist nonsense.

This was on one day in the background and some parts were a little absorbing. But I wasn't able to really focus.

Wasn't Meat Loaf in an episode of "Northern Exposure" - Didn't they catapult him into a lake?

Anyone?

Or was that Bob Seger?
(my age is really messing with me today).
