There are 'Pat's in my bloodlines, of course.
I love 'St Patty's Day', but I think I've grown out of it - I slept THE ENTIRE DAY.

I'm pissed off at myself for missing most of Antenna TV's "Lotsa Luck" St Paddy's Day marathon.
For those (most/all) of you who don't know what "Lotsa Luck" is, having only heard of it myself several weeks ago, I'll tell you. "Lotsa Luck" was a sitcom that ran for one season in 1973. It started Dom DeLuise and was sort of an All In The Family-ISH kind if show in that it was another Carl Reiner production about a working class NYC family living in one of the the outer burroughs, but without the Archie Bunker bigotry and social commentary. DeLuise plays the main character, a former NYC bus driver who still works for the transit authority, but now runs the lost and found dept in the basement. He lives at home with his mother in her house, along with his ultra dorky sister and her lazy slob, mooch husband. Since DeLuise's character is the only one with a job, his income supports them all. Maybe his mother collects Social Security, I don't know. Anyway, up until I happened upon it a few weeks ago, I had never heard of it before. But it's a surprisingly good show. I wanted to watch the marathon (or more of it than I did) but totally forgot until there were like three or four episodes left. Here's the intro: And the outro: It runs on Antenna TV if you're interested in checking it out. |

I worked during St. Patrick's Day....bloody hell am I tired of bloody corned beef and cabbage.
We had an alternative item on the menu, "bangers 'n mash", we had equal amounts from the punters visiting us that day. I do fancy a nice bangers & mash meal, with a good milk stout to wash it down!
