We won't have another day where the month/day/year are the same number for 89 more years, on 01/01/(21)01.

So enjoy it while it's here!!!! Thumbs Up

Of course, with the end of the world coming up on the 21st of this month, I don't suppose it matter much.

After 6/6/66, 7/7/77, 8/8/88, 9/9/99, 1/1/01, 2/2/02, 3/3/03, 4/4/04, 5/5/05, 6/6/06, 7/7/07, 8/8/08, 9/9/09, 10/10/10, 11/11/11 and 12/12/12, I've gotten used to this whatever-it's-called.  I'll miss it.

I always try to remember to look at the clock at, for instance, 12:12pm on 12/12/12, but always forget.  The one time I remembered was when a radio DJ reminded me on my way to work at 7:07 on the morning of 7/7/77.  It was kind of a letdown, as I recall.  I thought "Oh!" and then I thought "Oh.  Now what?".

Kinda like trying to remember to watch your odometer turn over at 100,000 miles.

You always tell yourself you're gonna watch it turn, but you always forget. Then, when you look at it, it's reads something like 100,021.3.

DAMMIT!!!!! Angry

The anchor asked them (both girls) what they wanted for their birthday, and they both said "a phone."  The Radio Shack commercial with the screaming girl immediately came to mind, only it would be that times two. Confused

Oh yeah, forgot about that.

Helluva lineup, too.

Is it on free/broadcast too, or just cable/pay?

It looks like PBS is airing it, Jimbo.

Though I just checked my local listings and it's not on PBS here so you may want to check ahead of time for your area.  But it's on plenty of other channels I have in my cable package, so I'll still get it.

I have no cable, so if it's on broadcast, I'll watch.

If not, I'll just catch it online.

Probably gonna be live streamed, too.

It should be ... do you get ABC, NBC, etc?  If so you should definitely get PBS.

Oh, I get PBS alright.

I actually get several PBS stations since everything went digital. We now have PBS stations with individual "sub-channels" each specializing in a different subject area.

In my area I get....

WDSC - Daytona State College (ch 15.1, 15.2 & 15.3)

WUCF - University of Central Florida (ch 24.1, 24.2, 24.3 & 24.4)

WBCC - Brevard Community College (ch 68.1, 68.2 & 68.3)

And not having cable/satellite, I LIVE off of PBS.

Almost all I watch.

PBS is my "cable". Thumbs Up

The only performers I'd be interested in are Paul McCartney and Roger Waters...unless the Stones do Gimme Shelter (which would be apropos to the reason for the show).

I wonder if Springsteen will do Sandy (4th of July Asbury Park)?

Sandy, the roar is rising behind us

WinkYou got to this one before me, ol'Mule....but I was in a meeting.
I was *hoping* to crank up a 12/12/12 thread at 12:12:12, but I was stuck with someone who just wouldn't STFU - had to smile and listen while wondering if I could stuff 12 socks in the person's mouth, covering at least 12 teeth, and maybe causing suffocation after breath number 12.
Doesn't matter now.
Happy 12.12.12.
We've nine days left - enjoy!

I was in the middle knocking out a dozen hot wings when 12:12 rolled around here about 9 minutes ago.

What's the big deal about this 12/12/12 business? It's just another day for me.

I wonder if my family will see a penny of the money from this Concert For Sandy Relief. We're still suffering over here. Nobody cares about my neighborhood! We demand retribution!

ConfusedWAITASTINKIN'MINUTE, Moochy!
1.) Nobody cares? Thought WE reached out looking for you 'Day 1'...is it your FAMILY or your NEIGHBORHOOD that is currently in trouble (or all of the above)? Why am I under the impression You and Yours were "O.K."? Could be me.

2.) What is the big deal about 12.12.12?
Lucky 12-12-12! Demand for weddings and C-sections soar as brides and moms-to-be take advantage of last triple digit date for 100 years

The Concert for Sandy is on PBS, ABC, HBO and quite a few other stations.

Thor,  "Gimme Shelter"  would be great. I remember the Stones did "Salt of the Earth" for the 9/11 concert. That song got the old waterworks going for me.

I love that song.  Merry Clayton is great in it.  I was just reading about her part in the song.  She was called in to add some background vocals in the middle of the night, demanded payment in advance, did her part, and then went home, where she immediately suffered a miscarriage.  It's speculated that the strain of singing this part caused the miscarriage.  I'm not really buying that, but it's a good story, so I'll go with it.

Listen to her at 2:50, where her voice cracks ("Rape!  Murd~r!") and Jagger yells "Whoo!"  Great stuff.

WinkI'm seriously considering cooking 12 chicken parts while drinking 12 beers before 12 o'clock. If I start now, I should be done in about 3 hours...dammitnow! a few parts of the 'half-cooked'-chicken just fell on the nasty-ass floor!
I'll slather 'em with BBQ sauce and save 'em for MissyDWolf (with loveBroken Heart, of courseWink!).
If she finds the hair on the chicken, I'll just tell her it was a chicken from North Carolina, or something...
