GMC hit a trifecta with this one: 1) melodramatic body language and even the trucks join in; 2) use of a classic rock song; and 3) stupid transmogrification of a name into a verb ("Truck Month like a Pro.") I can't help but envision a future with owners of these trucks borrowing ideas from White Trash Repairs to hold these tailgate contraptions together after they break! |

It's a sad day when a person sinks $20,000.00 into a truck because of the tailgate.
I bet you can find modified/flexible-use tailgates if you look.

What's up, Doc? Here's the original, just another few reasons to jack up the price. Price? One could buy a decent old house, in a small town, for what they want for this truck! New 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab Short Box 4-Wheel Drive SLT

I'll take the house for $60k and go buy a rusty old used Ford pick-up that runs for $1500.

I recently saw an ad for a Ford Expedition for $73,000. And yes, my jaw DID drop.

Still with the tiny 5FT truck beds. Just big enough for the weekly groceries and the kids bicycle. If ya can't fit an 8FT. sheet of drywall in it, I don't want it.

There remains the choice that many realize far too late: Money can ENABLE or DICTATE life. Sure would seem if one is going to sink that much money in a fossil fuel burner, it should return twice the investment within simply a few years. That is life enabled. If one has to either live or work a second job for the truck, then that is life dictated. Simply a waste of our time and air - those folks should get out of our gene pool. When life pressures you at a young age: Try not to become accustomed to it to the point of it pressuring you as an adult - which can only lead to very bad things: |

Can't stand this sh*t commercial - especially this damn version of this song.
The one GM ads that keeps driving me nuts is for Cadillac, for months I was wondering WTF the song was in the background, it kind of sounds like classic rock from the 60s...just had no idea who or what it was. Finally I look the stupid song up, It's not a classic rock tune, it's from this hiphop artist named Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover when he's acting. |

I know how ya feel and *I* feel yer pain, too, there TNIP! But...take a peek in your own thread (the specific link above). I WAS sort of expecting a "...gee, THANKS PaW! I would have NEVER found it without YOU!!!" and maybe something along the line of "How does a black artist - in fact, any artist - decide to come up with and stick to a stage name of 'Childish Gambino'? It sounds so unoriginal and childish.", but no.

I actually like C.G.'s song, "Zombies." It's weird in a cool way, to me. (The album art, however, is just plain weird.)
Indeed! School buses sometimes seem more like employee shuttles for rocket scientists by comparison! Speaking of televised stupidity, the news ended as I was checking this thread, and something called Hollywood Game Night came on. A full discussion would be way O.T., but I'd rather watch Sesame Street, which these days may qualify for college credit! |

Yes, it's an old thread. But they are using the same song...Very subtle, but it's there. I may have to look up how much my truck cost when it was new. |

I agree completely!! This draggy-voiced, minor-key rendition is awful. It sounds like a dirge.
