I hate it when people say "Got (blank)" instead "Have (blank)"

Also, a commercial is not a place.  Therefore, you wouldn't use "where".  You'd use "in which".

That is, if you really wanna get technical about such things.  Wink

How can I calm down?  I went to Catholic school, where we were slapped into grammatical correctness.  39 years later, I'm still in fear of Sister Domitian's right hand, even though that right hand has probably been eaten by worms at this point.  LOL

So, Luke, tell me...do they still make students diagram sentences in school these days?

Me too... grade school and high school.  Not all, but some of those Nuns were mean.  We were paddled and our hands slapped with rulers when we were out of line, and even when we were not out of line.  They can't get away with that nowadays, but then again most of us turned out just fine.  30+ years later I still remember Sister Rebecca from grade school.

Yeah, that Got (blank) is a tired rip-off of the Got Milk? ad campaign which you may or may not remember at 14 years of age.

My mother did the same thing; so, bad grammar makes me annoyed.

I think "Got milk?" sounds better than "Have milk?".  The former clearly asks if you've Got Milk, while the latter is ambiguous.  The latter could mean "Do you have milk?" or "Would you like to have some milk?".

And yes...lukeyeats is 14.  If you notice, I replied to his original first post, after which, he changed that first post entirely.  LOL

Yeah.  Mother Superior used to come around once a year to hit kids.  I got slapped for not dotting my i's or j's.  As you can see, I now dot my i's and j's.  LOL

You get a pass on that 'cause you're 14.  If you were 15, we'd have to kick your ass.
