She was on one of those home renovation shows. I found her too unappealing to watch. Something about her just annoys me. |

In commercials from the 60's and 70's, they used girls whose voices sounded like girls. Feminine and appealing. In this new age of female empowerment, they all have this bossy, authoritative, know-it-all blowhard tone. Coupled with the oft-discussed around here, "vocal fry", a quality that makes them and the commercials they're in, even more obnoxious and impossible to sit through, all I can say is... Thank God for the mute button. |

And how many people have bathrooms the size of livingrooms? I don't think I've ever lived anywhere where the open floor space of the bathrooms was any bigger than 3'x 5'. You can have a Cosby style dance party in TV bathrooms these days. |

I was expect the obligatory, "I'd do her" line. Maybe I was thinking of someone else here.

You'd think #2 and #3 would've watched the show, read up on her, and realized what they were getting into. And she's not even that hot to look at. In fact, not at all. |

Her face in repose has a sinister snake like look
there were occasions early on where she seemed vaguely human but.. when they did the show post divorce( yes THAT happened)she would eye roll and snark at her ex like no other- super uncomfortable viewing what was also amusing was how laudatory she was of new (& soon ex)hubby' Ant' who was kind of a mega douche

Yep, it's that every sentence ends on an "up", like it's a question. A little girl affect in a woman. Incredibly creepy.

That's one of my pet peeves. "Uptalk". There've been articles written about it. It's got its own Wikipedia page. It used to be a teenage girl thing, now I hear adult women and even boys doing it. I guess it's supposed to sound cute or passive or something. |

Many years ago, I saw a female stand up comic say that about the way people from Tennessee talk.
She was either from there or lived there or visited there or whatever. But she joked about how every time they make a statement, it sounds like a question. Then she did a Tennessee uptalk impression that sounded like most Tennesseans I've heard. On a similar note, I knew a kid in high school whose family was from Tennessee. Even though he grew up in Florida, he had a heavy Tennessee accent. He would also "up talk" all the time. |

Yeah, I see---or hear--- what you mean. I don't think it's quite as "question-y", though (nor as stupid-y). Cindy Crawford sure was purty. Connie Chung, not too bad, either. |

She's not really a good example of Tennessee uptalk. The first 10 seconds of this video, or the "intro" part where she's explaining the purpose of it in her natural speaking voice, is a slightly better example of what I was talking about.... After she starts pronouncing words fron the list, you can hear it a few times, but not as pronounced. |

I once worked with a girl from TN. Sha talked the talk, but on her it seemed to fit and wasn't as annoying as most

Christina Haack El-Moussa Anstead Haack Hall looks and sounds like about a bajillion other people from SoCal.
I’m pretty sure she only says her first name in the commercial because we all know her last name is going to change a few (or more than a few) more times…

Yes, I also find Christina Haack's voice extremely annoying! Like fingernails on a chalkboard. It was the first thing I noticed about this ad. Fortunately they haven't run it here for awhile.
