Hopefully late night TV will return from the dead tonight at 11:30 pm when Steven Colbert begins his tenure as David Letterman's replacement.
I know it always takes awhile for a new show to get up to speed and find it's groove, so to speak, so if it doesn't go gang busters tonight or for the first week or two, I'll try not to be too disappointed. I just hope it doesn't totally suck. |

No, I don't think so either. Colbert is pretty funny, but it will still depend on his writers and what kind of comedy bits they come up with. They don't do much on Fallon and the stuff they do on Kimmel is kinda lame.

I hope they have cool theme music, too.
Hope this Jon Batiste guy is a good bandleader who also contributes to the comedy. Just a few more minutes and we'll see!!!! I'm soooo nervous!!!!! |

So far, so good!!!!
Opening sequence was funny, offbeat and irreverent. Monologue was pretty short, but there was a lot of introducing and a nice homage to Letterman, so I expect the monologue will increase in length and content soon enough. I can already tell that I relate to this guy more than I could ever come close to relating to the Jimmies or Seth Whatsizface. Looking good!!! |

You can see it right here on the CBS website. http://www.cbs.com/shows/the-late-show-with-stephen-colbert/ You can also catch a couple of the individual bits he did on YouTube. |
