I know the difference but flipping through the channels I see "The Dead Pool," which I know is Eastwood, but I also think that Paul Newman had a similarly titled movie. Looked it up "The Drowning Pool." Both excellent movies but Eastwood's is on much more often.

A new study finds that people who are chipper & happy live longer. Which is surprising because people who aren't chipper & happy want to kill people who are always chipper & happy. David Letterman

It's been more than a few years but I remember "The Dead Pool" as a very strange Eastwood film. That's OK I can handle strange. "The Drowning Pool" sounds familiar and I have probably seen it. Like so many things at my age I just don't remember it. I am now going to try and remember similar titles but don't get your hopes up. I looked up "The Drowning Pool" I don't think I have seen it although I am a Paul Newman fan.

Slacker and Slackers.  The latter is a regular movie from the early 2000s with a plot, while the former is one of those plotless movies like Dazed and Confused and Clerks, from the early 90s.

I hate when I'm going through the TV guide and see "The Day The Earth Stood Still" only to find out it's that POS remake. There are some classics that just can't be redone. I think they tried to do "The Birds",, too and that turned out to be crap, too.

In the 55 years I've been on this planet only two remakes have succeeded to better their originals. They are:

1. Homeward Bound, The Incredible Journey (1993 - Remake of the 1960 The Incredible Journey).
The original version was a narrated story about two dogs and a cat that went through the wilderness to find their masters. For the 1993 version, the producers decided to add some comedy into the film and made the animals into characters. The older dog (Voiced by Don Ameche) was wise, the younger dog (Voiced by Micheal J. Fox) was cocky and the cat (Voiced by Sally Field) had some attitude. And guess what? It Worked! By the way I highly recommend both versions. Thumbs Up

2. Charlotte's Web (2000 - Remake of the 1973 Charlotte's Web), This one SMOKED the origional (Which was rather mediocre IMO. I highly reccommend the remake, as for the original, as I mentioned earlier wasn't so great) Thumbs Down But if you HAVE to watch it pick it up when "Garage Saleing", two bits (or less - I got mine for free) takes it away! LOL
