I know that we have a pet thread, but you all know how devastated I was at losing my Mikey. Sam is Mikey's great nephew and he is now four month's old

Congrats!

Waaay cute!

A few years back, someone's Springer Spaniel (brown and white, though) got loose in the 'hood.  For some reason, he ended up in my front yard, barking at my window.  I went out to do a meet-n-greet.  His owner was in pursuit, and got him back pretty quickly.  What a sweetheart that dog was, though.

That first picture melts my heart it's so cute Hug  (And can we safely assume the dinosaur is his favorite toy?)

He has that quintessential Spaniel look to him, from his face to his ears and coat.  Congrats Big Momma! May Sam bring you years of loving companionship Big smile

I went into a pretty nasty depression when I lost Mike. He was my co-pilot, My family was a bit worried. I had to take time to shake myself off so to speak.  Sammy is not a replacement, but I have found that my heart is more than large enough to love him also.

^  My neigbor's 30-ish stepson watched his dog Mojo (a dachsund-chihuahua mix) get out from the yard and killed by a car a few weeks ago.  My neighbor went right out and got him a "replacement" from the pound.  A chihuahua.  It didn't work.  I didn't think it would.  The guy loved his dog, and he's just not ready to "replace" him.

But the new dog was scheduled to die within a week, and my neighbor couldn't resist that.  He's a nutcase, but he loves animals.  So, he's keeping the dog.  I knew from the first day that that's what was gonna happen.  Her name is Sweet Pea.  He also has a pit bull and 4 cats.

Big Momma, just from your posts and years on this board, your heart is large enough to love Noah's Ark!

Thanks Madawee!Hug I tell Sammy that "Uncle Mike" is his guardian angel. Thor you are 100% right, anyone who has truly loved an animal knows that they are irreplaceable.

The last time I lost a dog, I left home just to get away from the memories.

What a poopy! He is gorgeous.

But as a similar remark by Sundance to Butch, "Think you got him enough toys there,Big Momma?"

I love my dogs dearly, but I am kind of jealous--I just love puppies and kittens.

What a sweet boy Sam is!  May you have many wonderful years together full of love, comfort, happiness and good health.  I'm sorry you lost your Mikey.  He's in Rainbow Bridge waiting for you, and happy that your heart has healed enough to give another pup a great life like you and Mikey had together.

Sam is super cute!

Puppies and kittens are cute and all, but there's nothing like a dog or cat that's settled in to his personality (and yours).  I'm looking forward to my 3 y/o Rocco when he's 5 or 6, and his personality is more solid.  At 3, he's still all over the place.

^Oh, I wouldn't take anything for my Tess, 10 years, and my Sadie dog, 13 years. In fact, though Sadie doesn't have any one condition or health issue, she has so noticeably started to age and slow down. She even has slimmed down just a bit, and she only gets excited about food. I only hope she stays like this, no bad health, for years. But I still love looking at puppies!
