Capital One has a radio ad in which a braggadocios announcer keeps explaining what an improvement it is to move your accounts to Capital One. He uses several metaphors such as flying first class, having a corner office, and so on. The final metaphor he uses is that switching your account to
Capital One is like trading your day old coffee for fresh brewed I think the last line is supposed to comically highlight the
ignorance of the boastful announcer.
However, if you think of the flavor of the coffee being influenced by
the terroir expressed in the coffee bean (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terroir)
then a person with a lot of knowledge of coffee could indeed “taste the Commercials like this make me wonder how such stupid people get jobs in advertisement in the first place as they don’t seem to know anything, and don’t much care to learn anything either. |
