This stuff's gooood!
I got a 40oz box 'cuz it was on sale at the supermarket for $1.98. Normal price was either $4.98 or $5.98. I baked it in the oven yesterday, planning to eat maybe 1/2 lb of it. Well, less than 24 hours later, all 2 and 1/2 lbs is gone.
This stuff may not be as good as homemade macaroni and cheese (though it just might be), but it's a helluva lot better than any Kraft stuff. Lotta cheese (real cheese) and a lotta flavor. Very satisfying, but very addictive. Of course, carbs and cheese are like that. I ate a lot of it cold and , even cold, it's good.
I should go back and get a few more, I suppose.

I love almost all of Stouffer's frozen foods and dinners. Mac/cheese is great--like to cook it longer than says and get these browned, crunchy edges. Fettucini is great. French bread pizzas are excellent for a frozen pizza, their lasagnas are very good, and the potato bake thing with the cheese and bacon bits (I have to pick these off but of course animals love them). Yep, Stouffer's is damn good!

Do you remove the plastic film to get it browned? I was thinking of doing that 'cuz I love when it gets like that, too...but I thought it might all bubble over onto the pan below it. As it is, I only cooked it for 60 minutes rather than the 75 that the directions called for.
I used to get the Stouffer's Stuffed Bell Peppers till I decided to make my own. The Stouffer's version is kind of expensive for only two peppers.

If you like turkey tetrazini, they make a really good one. It's small, but really is worth it.

Since I'm not home to see a box, I think the film is still on, I just cook the daylights out of it. Sometimes it has crunchy chunks--mmmmmmmmmmmmm!

They sell in the hot food case of the deli at one of the grocery stores I shop at.
I asked them once how they made that great mac & cheese & the lady said "We go to the frozen food aisle & get a box of Stouffer's". |

At $1.98, I'm torn. It's well worth it, but I can't stop eating it. After I cooked it and ate some hot, I put it in the fridge where it sat there, beckoning me to "just take another bite" every time I opened the door.

Get the large family size.
About 10 bucks or so, but ya get a lot & don't have to keep driving to the store. They have a medium sized also for about 5 bucks. |

I got the "family size". It was 2.5 lbs. $1.98, on sale. That's why I'm not so sure I wanna get another one. I ate that 2.5 lbs in a space of less than 24 hours.
There's one that's nearly twice as big called "party size". It's almost 5 lbs.

Well whatever the biggest one is called is the one I was talking about.
Finish off one of those & you won't want anymore for awhile. Get it outta your system, so to speak. |

If it's got pasta in it, it won't ever get outta my system. When I was a kid, I used to say that when I grow up, I'm gonna eat spaghetti every day. I held pretty much true to that. By the time I was on my own, I was eating 1/2 to 3/4 lb of it about 4x/week. I've cut down to about 1 lb/week, but only in the past 5 years. It's been tough.
The only foods I remember ever getting sick of---due to ODing on it---were hot dogs and bologna.
That said, I went and got another one today. It's only on sale till the 23rd. I'll be able to avoid it after that.

I've bought the small 12oz. size ones lots of times, but I usually nuke them. If I cook per the instructions(plastic on, don't vent) the edges come out brown & crispy.
I adjust the time down.

That's my favorite part. When I make a baked ziti or lasagne, I take the foil off for the last half hour or so in order to get the top nice and brown and crunchy.

I gotta say I'm not a fan of Stouffer's mac & cheese. I bought this once, but only ate about half of it. The cheese has a fakeness to it.
Now what is amazing is Trader Joe's mac and cheese.
