Am I the only one that hates this commercial?

It's nitpicky, but I hate the way the woman reads the box as she's eating as if she didn't know anything about the food she's stuffing in her gob. Then she's all happy because "We don't have to cook anymore!". Really? So you're going to order ALL OF YOUR food from Freshly now?

Has our society become so danged lazy that cooking our meals is now something no one wants to do? I mean, I get it, there are days I don't want to cook but it's not like its some awful chore to prepare something to eat.

Of course you don't have to cook anymore. This is nothing new. You've been able pick up fast food on the way home from work forever.

Microwave crap with a cutesy name.

Full of preservatives and additives just like any frozen crap you can buy at the supermarket.

People are so effing gullible.

And of course they are a deliriously happy bi-racial couple.

Couldn't pass up an opportunity to pander.

Just like Nutri-systems.  The food is so crappy you have to lose weight.
I can't complain but sometimes I still do

As a person in a biracial marriage myself I have to say two things...

  1. It doesn't bother me in most commercials. It's not uncommon for me anyway having spent nearly a quarter century in the military.
  2. You have a point. This commercial screams "pandering". It's really annoying. I suppose I could explain it more if I hadn't been drinking tonight, but yeah,  it's definitely pandering in this ad as far as I'm concerned.

I enjoy cooking, but for those times when I want a quick meal, I'm not gonna pay an arm and a leg for it.    Wink

Totally agree! It's amazing what you can whip up yourself, even when you're in a hurry or on a budget.... and I don't consider myself a cook

I must commend and thank you for not jumping to the "racist" conclusion.

I am pro biracial anything. The more different races accept ch other the better.

But if I were in a biracial relationship I would find all this phony sucking up for the goal of increasing profits kind of insulting.

The problem is not that they are bi-racial
The problem is that  Ad-houses are
insulting our intelligence by the
(insert  Bi-Racial or Trans Gender) here
approach...its petty and annoying and I don't believe them

Yes, I signed up to this site because this horrible commercial just played yet again.

The whole premise is STUPID. First, who actually reads the box while eating and didn't she know this already considering she signed up for the service?

Then the whole, "we don't have to cook anymore". So they are really considering not cooking anymore? Why even have a kitchen then? Sure, spend the rest of your life trusting a company to prepare your food and having them dictate what you eat. Lazy!!! Yes, cooking can get tiresome and sometimes, I do opt for a quick meal, but I love to cook and more importantly I like the freedom of being able choose what I want to eat and know the exact ingredients im putting in my body.

Then finally, the pandering of another interracial couple. No, I don't have a problem with it in the REAL world, but these companies are just trying too hard. I didn't have an issue with the Cheerios commercial, but too many companies are doing it now and it's obvious pandering.

It should be noted, I used hello fresh for about a year when I was learning to cook. Unlike Freshly, Hello Fresh sends the ingredients and you still have to prepare them which is better IMO than those pre prepared meals.

However Hello Fresh sometimes sends rotten produce as well. Even though they credited my account in all cases, I still had to go to thur store to replace the rotten ingredients which defeats the purpose of using the service.

I eventually canceled Hello Fresh, not just because of the rotten food, but mainly because their deliveries were frequently days late and they did very little to resolve the issue. Even when I canceled, the customer service rep suggested I try their affiliate for "more healthy" options. I literally had to explain to this woman, the issue was getting the meals in the first place not not them needing heathy or not.

I'm not against meal services as a whole, They are very useful for people who have physical or other limitations, but the way they are advertised as an end all is misleading and this commercial is cringeworthy.

Hello Fresh was good for me because at the time I was physically unable to go to the store due to surgery. Now I'm recovered, I still have been advised not to go inside the store because of my compromised immune system. But Publix has curbside delivery which is perfect for me.
