Thank you, Tiz and Hooty.... I have given myself a headache trying to figure this out. I think I managed to post a link anyway.

I've got it now Tiz.
My next challenge will be posting GIF's and transfering a link. For example if someone starts a topic that has been covered recently I would like to post the link. I hope to find those emoticons that have special effects like burning, vomit and head banging. |

Help! I am embarrassed but since how to do things popped up again, I have never figured out how to copy all or part of another poster's post to include it in my post. A while back I found what I thought were the instructions but they seemed really convoluted so I just gave up and haven't tried again. I got the posting of youtubes pretty quickly way back when so I'm not a complete pc idiot
I, too, have always wanted a wider range of smiley faces and will practice those instructions from earlier. Thanks |

A new study finds that people who are chipper & happy live longer. Which is surprising because people who aren't chipper & happy want to kill people who are always chipper & happy. David Letterman

Find that original topic, and block the URL (the webpage address at the top of your screen). To block, just hold your left mouse button down in the box, and drag it across the webpage address*. That'll turn it blue. Then, keeping your cursor on that blue section, right-click, and select "copy" by left-clicking onto it. Go back to the duplicate thread, go to your reply box, right-click, and select "paste". That'll drop the link into your reply. This is one of those things that sounds more complicated than it is. * You should actually be able to just left-click onto the address once or twice, and block it that way. |

I once drove from the Green Bay airport to Iron Mountain, MI in a raging snowstorm.... I feel your pain. |

Our fearless leader told me I could change my screen name anytime.
Am I missing a step? Do I have to re-register? Papa L, Did you have to go through N? I can shoot him a message, but I really don't want to bother him if I can do it myself.

Some websites do let you do it yourself, but I think that's on a different programming than this forum.

Has anyone tried to connect their computer to their TV set?
The connection from the computer to the monitor is a multi prong plug. Then the audio seems like a simple conversion. With all the full length prgrams avaliable on you tube for free. Just thinkin.

You know, after some research, it may be pretty easy.
I have an old fashioned PC. Tower, monitor, keyboard, wireless mouse. The tower is only 2 or 3 years old and has an HDMI port. Also 2 S-video ports. I actually hooked it up but I had to disconnect the feed from the cable box. It showed my desktop background, not what I had on my monitor screen. The stereo/surround has multiple ports even for video so I think I can run the signal through there.
