I love my spuds Tongue  but the ad hawking them with that raspy-voiced woman just annoys me.  She's trying to make a point that potatoes have good nutritional value (for the non-carb-phobic yes, yes they do Wink)  but then says they "have 100 calories".  All the while holding a plate with a "perfect"  baked potato on it--the size of a newborn baby!  That thing's at least 200 calories. LOL Ouch

TongueWinkYou are absolutely correct! EVERY newborn baby *this* Wolf has munched has been *at least* 200 calories! TERRIBLE, I tell ya! I HATE having to 'jog around the woods' just to work off the 'babyfat', dammmit!

That's Denise Austin.  We had a thread going on her and her big potatoes maybe 3 years ago.

The spuds in this commercial have a sort of salsa thing going on top.

"MY" baked potato swims in butter. So I totally blow the whole "100 calories" mark!

Great - now my thoughts are turning to a plate of tater skins loaded with bacon and cheese.

Agreed, Mad...and I'm working from home, today...so, I'm but 20 feet and 10 minutes from 'ecstacy for breakfast'...

You shouldn't have ecstacy for breakfast or any other meal, Pa.  Not at your age, anyway.  At least just save it for the occasional rave.

Sounds good...but mashed with lots of butter is my fave.

A friend of mine hates potatoes in any form (even mashed!).  What the...?

My brother used to hate mashed! WTF? Plus, as a nice 1/2 Irish family, we had them EVERY SINGLE NIGHT at dinner as kids. LOL

I know an Irish woman (born and raised there) who hated pasta.  I didn't get that one either.  Who hates spaghetti?  Shocked

Denise is a fitness fanatic, MrC. She'd have your 'taters whipped(pun intended)in no time.Wink
I can't have a baked tater w/o a half stick of butter on it, nor mashed taters w/o spooning a pocket for the gravy.

I also hate her. She sounds like one of those boozy former bar-dancing, co-ed, chugging contest winners that shouted at the top of her lungs from high school graduation straight thru to the day of her unexpected pregnancy and subsequential college drop out. She's meant to be the pretty face of spud slinging ad execs in the not so great state of I-Da-Ho, but in fact she only reminds us all that this place only has one valuable export, and it isn't the girl on TV.

She does seem like a party chick, but she's apparently devoted her life to phys ed, nutrition, and health...and been fairly successful at it.  So who knows?  Maybe she's been and done both.  By the way, she's 53.

Ironically she sounds like she was a chain smoker.  She has that Marlo Thomas, Rachel Ray, Al Paccino type raspy voice.

Did you ever stop to think that "we had them EVERY SINGLE NIGHT " was why he hated them?  LOL

Or perhaps, that was your point.  Embarrassed  LOL

Or Whitney Houston in that Oprah interview when she said "Crack is whack".  So maybe Austin likes herself a bit o' crack to go with her taters.

LOLLOLLOL I was thinking - after his 15th year of mashed spuds being served, maybe he'd get used to them? Now he loves them. Go figure... (Stephen, I love you, ya big goofy lug!)
