Out of pure curiosity, what sports teams do you find yourself supporting?

For myself:

Basketball: Chicago Bulls

Baseball: Chicago Cubs

Football: San Diego Chargers (when my parents are close by: Green Bay Packers Wink)

First two because of their somewhat close proximity to Iowa. The football one is because, and I know this is gonna sound really silly, it was the team of Rolf Benirschke. Rolf was host of the daytime Wheel of Fortune for a couple months in 1989 and I liked his work there in a "so bad, it's good" kinda thing! LOL

Haven't been into watching sports since I was 13 or 14.  Occasionally, I'll go to see Sacramento's minor league baseball team, the River Cats.  Parking's easy, seats are always available, the weather's always great, and I get the baseball stadium experience without all the hassle that it is to go see the SF Giants.

NFL: Miami Dolphins & St. Louis Rams

MLB: Florida Marlins
NHL: Who gives a crap.

MLB: I follow the Texas Rangers, but also became a Dodgers fan when I went to L.A. last month. Baseball is actually a fun sport to watch in person...I loved the atmosphere of Dodger Stadium, and now I want a Dodger Dog!

Ugh.  Screw the NBA & screw the sleazebag owner who bought them and yet "had no intentions of moving them to Oklahoma City".  I hope those emails sink them. Angry

Baseball:  Atlanta Braves, Chicago White Sox, Milwaukee Brewers
Football:  Not that big of a fan, but I like both the Bears and the Packers
Hockey:  Chicago Blackhawks, Atlanta Thrashers, Chicago Wolves (AHL)
NASCAR:  Dale Jr., and Tony Stewart
F1:  BMW Sauber
Soccer (football):  Bayern Munich, Chicago Fire, German National Team

To rationalize all this:  Dad's from Germany, Mom's from Milwaukee, they met in Atlanta which is where I was born and then we moved to Illinois.

MLB: I have 3 favorite teams. The St. Louis Cardinals and whoever is playing the Cubs. I root for Boston Red Sox in the AL
NFL: NE Patriots
I like all motorsports, but don't really have a favorite driver. Danica Patrick is easy on the eyes and Juan Pablo Montoya is fun to say.

NCAA: The Fighting Illini of the University of Illinois

^^ I have a Golf Ball with the University of Illinois "Chief" Logo on it. It was one of Three that I bought for my Father, who was having his Birthday the following week. I was at the University of Illinois for a Job Interview in September of 1994. (I didn't get the Job) but while I was there I decided to get a few Souveneers. When I saw the Golf Balls I bought a set for my Dad as a "Gag Gift" LOL since he was an avid Golfer. That should have been the end of the story, but it wasn't. On December 26, 1995 I was playing a Round of Golf with my Dad. He Teed off. The ball went on a graceful arc over the Fairway, onto the Green and into the Cup. ClapA HOLE IN ONE!Clap When we recovered the Ball I found out it was one of the Balls I had obtained from the University! The Golf Course gave my Father a Special Trophy, which had a Slot where you inserted the Ball. As fate would have it it would turn out to be the very last game I'd play with him, an Anurysm did him in three months later.Cry

The Trophy, with its Ball now sits in a Glass Case in My Living Room. If something ever happened, and I had to evacuate the House, and I could only take ONE item, it would be that Trophy!
