May Day (05-01-14) {or "2014 01 May.", or even "May 01, Twenty Stick-Pile-Of-Broken-Sticks" if you prefer}.
Just making my daily check-in from Federal Way WA. USA...my people (who live in Nicaragua) we have but four bungholes...er...uh...I mean, " I only have a sodding quartet of updates to my website today...the first is a new eval. of the Novelty Lanyard Light made for Tulalip Casino, the next two concern my having performed multiple spectrographic analyses of its LED, and the last is an update to my Foto(s) del Día" web page with...well, what else could it be? An astrophotograph of Mars' moon Phobos taken by the Hubble Space Telescope that clearly shows approximately 12 Borg cubes and twenty eight Borg spheres in loose orbit of Phobos? A metal garbage can literally crawling with thousands of mosquito wrigglers (larvae) plus some caddisfly larvae and maybe a few water beetles that got that way because the garbage can's owner (somebody involved in extreme assclownery) never once bothered to kick it over (thus relieving it of water) & douche it out with Chlorox or even put a lid on the asinine thing for Christ sakes? The bloated and somewhat fungused body of a pigeon in a plugged-up storm drain (the sodding stupid dead bird is what's clogging up the drain to begin with)? NO YOU SILLY GOOSE!!! IT'S A NEW PICTURE!!!

This is my Novelty Lanyard Light made for Tulalip Casino.

And this is my Foto del Día.

This is the USS Bozeman (registry number NCC-1941), a Federation science vessel, Soyuz class that was retired in 2280.

My weblog (or "blog" if you prefer) requires no updates as of this posting.

I have trips planned for my {now usual} morgenspaziergang, nachmittagsspaziergang, and abends spaziergang today.

Becki Boston said {and I quote}:
Craig, remember me? I have very sad news: Harley lost his battle with feline lieukemia Sunday morning. Bare with me ok? I need to talk this out and hubby is as grief stricken as I am. Last Thursday he didn't eat much. On Friday morning I went to the dentist and he seemed ok, but by dinner time he felt cold and listless. Since my vet was closed we took him to Vet ER. They did a CBC test and all his numbers were low. The doc there said he only deals with triage/ER cases and gave us so,e meds to spark his appetite. They didn't do much on Saturday and Harley looked worse. At bedtime we made the heart wrenching decision to be at my vet's when they opened at 10:00 and have Harley put to sleep. During the night Harley slept between us ...his way of saying good bye? He came out to the kitchen with us but refused to eat. He jumped on the newspaper on the kitchen ta ble, then got on the floor by hubby's feet and then came over to me. He walked off to the spare bedroom and jumped on the bed. We both followed him and saw that he was breathing heavy with his mouth opened. I told hubby to get dressed so we could take him to the ER. Harley jumping on the floor and collapsed and thrashed. I was hysterical and crying. Hubby drove from our house to ER at 80mph. I was begging Harley to keep breathing and not die in my car. He thrashed twice in the carrier before we got there. We barged past the check in counter to the large operating room where the doc was. She laid him on a table and the nurse shaved a leg to start a needle. I was holding on to him still crying (so was hubby) with the nurse listening to his heart. I saw him take a big gasp of air and he was gone. They put us in a room while they made me a ceramic paw print. They brought him to me and I held his precious little body and cried and cried. They gave me a leather case with 2 paw prints on one side and when opened the flap, it has the rainbow bridge poem. He was buried next to Jake and hubby ordered a granite stone that will have his picture lazered on it. Monday I was an emotional wreck. Dr. Warner, his vet, called me and said the ER had faxed her Harley's test results. I asked her about his breathing and thrashing. She said he was going through respritory hypoxia, meaning his bone morrow wasn't producing enough red blood cells to give him oxygen. The bedroom where I watched him fighting to breathe has the door shut. It will be a long time before I can go in there. Thank you for letting me deal with his loss by talking about it.

Good morning Becki (well, as my late father used to say, "what's so good about it?",

I'm so very very sorry to hear about poor Harley!

Harley was a real trooper, tell ya what.
We'll all miss your special little furkid.

Please accept my most sincere condolences and please take at least ***SOME*** solace in knowing that his pain & suffering are gone and that he is whole once again -- he is pain-free, eating all the Fancy Feast his little heart desires, and chasing butterflies, cicadas, dragonflies, and grasshoppers in a nice cool flowery meadow.

This was Harley.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When Harley, who was especially close to Becki, dies, Harley goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when Harley suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special furkid Harley finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of Harley, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

And the following are my Fotos del Día.

This was my "bestest" friend on the planet, Paul Casey.
The memorial website is because he went to heaven on 06-16-06 (or "16 Jun 2006" if you prefer).

I even wrote a number of computer demo programs in his memory.
This version runs on some Windows 98 machines (it does not work on my Toshiba laptop, but does work on my Gateway 2000 desktop); the first one runs on Windows XP (and possibly newer) only.
They are executables (.EXE extension), but they are "bug-free" if you will.

This is a screen dump (yes, it's really called that) from one of the demos.

Paul really loved the TV game show "Wheel of Fortune", so here's a small testament to that.

And these are my Fotos del Día.

(Top): This was my apartment (as viewed from the outside) at the Morrison; located at 509 Third Ave. in downtown Seattle WA. USA. that I lived in from 1988 through late-September 1996 when I moved out after getting shot at for knarking on a drug dealer.
Yes, it's the one with the plants & flowers growing out the window. :-)
It appears curved because this is a digital photograph of a paper photograph; I do not own or have access to a scanner which would have yielded a photograph where the buildings do not curve.

(Bottom): This is the apartment building itself.
Although it was built as a swanky hotel in 1908, it was converted into low-income apartments in the last quarter of the 20th century. I actually lived in this structure (apt. #531) from mid-1989 until September 30 1996.

And these are my Fotos del Día.

Four screens I used on my BBS in the mid-1990s; drawn in RIP format.

The first two were login screens; the third was the "User Statinator" screen that showed general statistics about the person logging in, and the last was the BBS's Main Menu.

I've long ago since forgotten what "COUNTDOWN TO EXTINCTION" was, so please do not ask.

And I don't know why I chose a douchebag (or was it an enemabag?) as the "Help" icon, so again, please don't ask.
I drew most of the icons myself; the three I didn't do myself are the "JUMP TO NEW ROOM", "POST PUBLIC MESSAGE", and "USER DATABASE" icons.

Finally, notice if you will the "games" icon (the one with the starship Enterprise in it) is labelled as "Abusement Park" instead of "Amusement Park".

An astrophotograph of one of Jupiter's farthest moons Pasiphae taken by the Cassini space probe en route to Saturn that clearly shows approximately 49 squadrons of Romulan birds-of-prey emerging from the Lagrange point behind that moon? A crime scene rather severely trashed because Team Super Douche got there before the fuzz did? A chair soaked with micturition (pee) because some total wastoid listened to the song, "Let's Break Some Furniture" by Worm Quartet after he sparked up a few bowls of ganja, then decided that the chair made an excellent pisscan? A metal garbage can literally crawling with thousands of mosquito wrigglers (larvae) plus some caddisfly larvae and maybe a few water beetles that got that way because the garbage can's owner (somebody involved in extreme assclownery) never once bothered to kick it over (thus relieving it of water) & douche it out with Chlorox or even put a lid on the asinine thing for Christ sakes? A logo that I made for pouet.net, a website where computer demo sceners go to check out others' work. I'm a member of this website, because I used to program demos for the Commodore 64 computer under two different banners: TDM ("The Douched Moose") when I was the demo group's sole member, and TDC ("The Douche Crew") when I added two members to my demo group.
