I saw a commercial for a flick called She's Just Not Into You, and was thinking that, hmmmm...here's a chick flick I'd watch, as it stars two of my favorites, Jennifer Aniston and Drew Barrymore.  All of a sudden though, a familiar commercial face appeared, turning me against the movie.  The guy in question is the guy from the PC versus Mac ads---the young hip Mac guy with the hair that looks like it's stuck to his head with grease and a voice that's stuck to the airwaves with twenty-something hipness.

An IMDB search tells me his name is Justin Long (can a name sound more Hollywood-ish?).

Maybe he's really not so horrible, and it's just the smug superiority of the Mac versus PC commercial that's turned me against him.  Plus, the fact that I own a PC.

I just read today that he used to date Drew Barrymore!  I thought that she'd wised up in the last few years.

I met him Detroit about a year back-seemed like a nice guy-a little into himself, as most actors are-but overall a nice guy...

Drew Barrymore broke up with 'Mac'?
Funny...she doesn't seem to be the 'PC' type!

Hate the commercials, love the actor.  Justin Long is actually pretty hilarious when he's not being a smug asshole on the Mac/PC commercials.  But it's just a job for him and thankfully he has done plenty of other acting work to redeem himself.

Good movies with Justin Long:

Waiting...
Accepted
Zack and Miri Make a Porno
Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story

He's Just Not That Into You was an OK movie, but kinda boring.  But definitely worth watching for Scarlett Johansson.  Yum!

A few years ago, Mac commercials plagued my TV. Now they re-emerged. Hopefully they land on a good grave.

How, exactly, is Mac 'smug'? He doesn't have a superior attitude, he doesn't smirk or enjoy PC's foibles, he just tells it like it is in a good-natured way. I can't say anything Mac has said or done in any of the ads I've seen can be labelled as 'smug'. Justin Long is the classic straight man to PC's (John Hodgman) stooge. I love these ads. They always make me laugh.

I'm just glad there is SOMEBODY out there that is willing to go up against the microsoft giant. Without Apple, wouldn't microsoft have pretty much a monopoly?

Those commercials annoy me.

PCs and microsoft are NOT the same thing. you are free to install any os you wish (aside from mac as they are hardware and software proprietary) on a pc or even create your own. it is true most major manufactures of pcs include windows in their all in 1 packages, but this is because most people are familiar with windows and would not know how to go about getting and installing their own os. i also really dislike their ad campaign because it has to be a lifestyle choice, not just a computer. furthermore they act as if widnows preinstalls viruses or something, your operating system is not to blame because you downloaded and opened a shifty program. the reason a mac wouldnt have gotten that virus is because macs cant run 90% of the programs on the internet. but if you dont mind paying an extra grand on top of what you would pay for a pc with identical hardware specs for some shiny white plastic and glossy icons then join the mac cult.

Macs screw up just as often, if not more than PCs with Windows installed.  Seriously.  They suck too.
