I feel like judging this by the name alone, because of the repetition that was mentioned, but not just the repetition of the ad itself. I hate 99 per cent of all "period" jokes and references, regardless of the decade they're about, for that same reason. They seem to harp on the same few things a million times - afros and leisure suits for one decade, bell bottoms and hippies for another, Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe for another (no, I take that back - entertainment manages to work those last two subjects into ANYTHING). So if I so much as hear the phrase "high school reunion," I go for the channel changer. Some people avoid that subject because it's too sentimental or too depressing, but for me, it's the repetition.

I think it's the whole "High School" whatever thing that the a$$wipes that be are cashing in on, and think everybody is stupid enough to jump on the bandwagon for.

I've been sooooo sick of the news lately, and other stupid assed shows in re-runs and nothing I want to see. I thought, HELL I'll fall back on some oldies like Andy Griffith, and Hogan's Heroes, Jeffersons and stuff like that. I  DVR them the day before so when I am working, I have a stock of things to watch. Well all I hear is Tone Loc's Wild Thang for the High School Reunion ad!!! f**k ME RUNNING BACKWARDS COVERED IN CORNFLAKES AND CHILI PEPPERS!!!! They need to stop already!!!

I can't believe this piece of trash is coming back.    This looks like some piece of sh*t show with catty, bitchy, snotty people that belongs on VH-1 or MTV.   This is just how pathetic TV Land is, they're trying to make "MTV style" shows for old people.    This channel is another MTV.   It has almost completely strayed from what it was originally intended: classic TV.    Now they show not classic shows and new reality BS.

Don't they know that old people don't watch MTV-style shows?

Which is why they only play on MTV?

I posted there under "mute"......when I did post. But it was always the same thing, thread after thread asking to bring back this or that show.
Recently I tried to quit their message board but couldn't find a way. Guess I'll have to ask the Mod there(when he/she finishes sleeping with the TV Land execs) to do it for me.Wink

Oh, they don't care about older folks now. See, TV LAND got bought out by a bigger company a few years back, and these folks are young and "HIP" and don't give a damn about all those older shows. They see them as nuisances that have to be squashed out of existence. This is the same group of people who I heard say once, "We own the minds of the younger generations, and they will head in any direction we tell them to, simply because they hate their parents and are in love with todays hottest trends!!" Since they set most of the trends, there is a certain amount of truth to what he said.

That was on some Inside Edition type program years ago. I was said by one MTV producer to another TV guy. The conversation wasn't supposed to be overheard, ....but it was. Scary huh??

There's not one person in that reunion who's the least bit likeable.  But I guess those shows aren't really about "likeable".

And there's that one semi-hot but mostly-skanky woman who never got noticed in high school, but is now getting noticed on covers of porn mags---and proud of it.  Talk about a screwed-up head.

I've been holding back throwing something at my TV the last week.  For a few months, I had NO evening down time at all (was in a play 30 miles away.)  So the past week I've finally been catching up on some R&R, and since I'm not a big network TV watcher, I've been falling back on Cosby reruns.  And now, thanks to this past week, I have full memorization of:

"In high school I graduated without any pants...I was the CLASS CLOWN!"

"I wasn't popular, but I wanted to be...I was the WANNABE!"  (for some reason THIS woman gets on my nerves more than the others.)

And so on and so on...

I think it's sad in a way.  No one should label themselves twenty years after high school, a situation in which not one person had any control over their surroundings and reactions.  Don't joyously announce, in your late thirties/forties what a loser you were/are...you're just making an ass out of yourself now.

Let it go people...let it go...

Other than some things I posted in another thread, I remember extremely little about High School.

I remember, being in band, being in A\V, marching band at the football games on Saturdays, a girl I liked brutally killed in a messy drunken car accident, smoking in the designated smoking areas, trip with the band to Connecticut, going to junk yards for parts, learning to drive, Chicago (the band), Pomp & Circumstance at graduation.

B the 1st, I think that one's the worst of the promos for this show.  It might, however, be tied with the "Man-tears" one.  That's the one in which each of the men at the reunion sobs publicly for whatever reason.
