Look at the upper right-hand corner. Newsmax is a conservative news site. They keep having these polls about Obama and Hillary. I guess the object is to have people (who can't figure that out) vote, so the Repubs can give faux stats about the Dems.

The questioned posed there may have less to do with the desire for Hillary to quit based upon her numbers, than the desire for her to quit based upon the reality that she would be harder for McCain to beat than Obama would be. In other words, were Hillary to lose (or quit) the primaries, would her supporters defect to McCain or Obama? Many say "to McCain". This is why Republicans may be more supportive of Obama than Hillary as McCain's opponent...and would therefore, like to see Hillary quit.
So, I don't think they're trying to present false stats. I think they're trying to gauge whether Obama or Hillary would be the less formidable opponent for McCain.

In the event that either Obama or Clinton is able to beat McCain in this year's general election, look for talk show host Steve Wilkos to throw his hat in the presidential ring in 2012. Imagine--a potential Presidential showdown with two candidates from the same state--ILLINOIS! (For the record, Hillary is originally from Illinois.)

8 Track, you say that like McCain is some huge adversary. I mean, sure, there's a fair amount of Republicans in this country. But so far, there's way more people who are so afraid of a repeat situation that they don't want another Republican in office at all. I honestly think Obama and Clinton both have good chances. I mean, we really are living the 20s again. Bush is our Warren G. Harding. He will go down in history as one of the worst presidents ever, if not the worst.

That too. But it was Warren G. Harding's fault, basically, that we entered the Great Depression, and although Hoover did nothing to improve it, we might not have even gone through it if not for Harding.
There's a school named after Harding in my city. I think I speak for everyone when I say, WTF?? |

A couple of days ago I came across a similar ad asking "Is it over for Obama?"

What angers me the most about these ads is they always use a "candid" shot with the subject making some rediculous face. They did it with Bush, now they're doing it with candidates (and apparently, ex-candidates).

These ads don't have anything to do with promoting ideas. They are about getting you to click their stupid link. There are oodles of such ads. People are just dying to express their outrage, or demonstrate out very smart they are. Marketers know this. The cynical bastards know that all they need to do is post a question about something that people are driven to answer...like "George Bush...for 'em or against 'em". Or "Who is this actor?", giving you three choices while displaying a picture that is unmistakably one of them. I've never clicked one, but I assume that you end up going to a site where they try to get you to part with your money. |
