I can't stand this commercial. Not only do they use a rendition of a song I hate, but it comes on every night - seemingly at the same time - on a certain channel here that airs Seinfeld reruns. Whenever I hear the opening bars of this ad, I run for the remote. I will never use this service because of this horrible commercial.

I don't even know what that has to do with anything in the first place.

I use DuckDuckGo about 90% of the time nowadays. Google is a major conglomerate that YES, spies on your search history. Ever search something on Google and then get personalized ads for whatever you searched for? For example, try searching for a salad recipe on Google. Eventually there will be ads 'by Google' for Hello Fresh and a bunch of other random places.
Fk Google and the way they spy on Internet users. I started using DDG last year and won't be back to Google as my full-time search engine.
Back after a long absence...still hating those commercials. Go away Limu Emu and Doug!

I don't mind them spying on my search history because my search history is boring and as long as they're only doing it to target advertising to me, I don't see anything wrong with it.

Now, if I want to do a search about how to build a remotely controlled car bomb or how to hire a hitman, etc, etc, I'll use DDG.

Just kidding there, FBI....

I kind of get annoyed at how advertisers decide that if I just look at a picture of something, I'm on the market to buy it.

I look at pics of cars, and suddenly I'm shopping for one.

The other day, I looked at a listing for a house nearby (I just wanted to see pics of the inside), and suddenly, I'm getting emails from Trulia.

I guess statistically the odds say that you ARE more likely to be shopping for something you're looking at online.

Though I've never bought any, I get a lot of ads for teenage girls' swimwear.... 🤔 😎 😉

Right now, after posting the above, is a pic on my CIH home page of Gwen Stefani in a blue bikini top. There's nothing much to see, though.

I hear the radio version of this ad and it sounds different than the TV ad, slightly more annoying when he says "They'll be watching you".

I know DDG has grown over the past few years. Even in Toledo, they were advertising on billboards.

I'm assuming they paid a hefty price for the rights to that classic Police song. Wonder how Sting feels about this?Confused

The song had probably pretty much run its course, as far as making him money. Now it's making money for him again. I'm guessing he feels good about that.

He's still a pompous ass, though.

I'd imagine he feels pretty good. He's getting paid for it, after all.

Heck, Kate Bush (disclaimer: I love Kate Bush) made a bundle this year because "Running up that Hill" was featured in "Stranger Things.". That song is FORTY years old.
